Old Hotel, Generally Good, Room Description Issues

The Room was described as a Triple Room with three twin beds. We, fairly naiively given the room cost, thought this meant three bedrooms each with twin beds; to the hotel what it meant was a single room with three single beds. As we were two men and a woman, with no partners invoIved, this wasn't ideal. We immediately complained but as there were three of us the hotel manager had trouble understanding our issue, "how many beds did we need?". We are adults, friends and scuba divers (used to getting changed in UK cars, toilets etc) so we just got on with it. I want to be clear the staff were fine, I believe it was just a translation issue. An old hotel it has no lift. WiFi was available but flaky and was replaced by a new system; this led to a charge (2 euros per day) being introduced. The hotel is on the main road with the taxi stand opposite, it got very noisy at times in the early hours. The location means the hotel is well positioned for the restaurants, bars and night life. The buffet breakfast was good, there was a selection of cereals, yoghourt, fresh rolls (both plain and sweet), thin ham, spreadable cheese, freshly hard boiled eggs, bananas, cake etc as well as fruit juice, coffee and a selection of teas. No restriction on going back.

Bien placé mais bruyant

L'hôtel est très bien placé proche de la plage et du centre de Santa Maria. Le service et le petit déjeuner sont corrects sans plus. Ma chambre était simple, assez spacieuse, mais malheureusement pas du tout insonorisé (personne ne supportant pas le bruit, s'abstenir). La salle de bain un peu vétuste mais propre. La piscine, proche de la rue, est plutôt petite et donc très vite surpeuplée.

Pleasently Surprised

The Pensao Nha Terra is a friendly family run hotel situated in the heart of Santa Maria very close to the pier, beaches and local amenities. Cleanliness is very good with bedding changed three times in a week and towels changed everyday. We had a sea view room that was all it was cracked up to be with a reasonable size balcony to boot, the only criticism being that they failed to put a mop over the balcony floor or clean the balustrade. Breakfast was a satisfactory help yourself buffet, not over extravagant but plentiful. Overall we enjoyed our all too brief stay at the Pensao Nha Terra.
