Saint Servan is a lively neighborhood in Saint-Malo with shops and everything you need for your daily shopping. It’s quite easy to get out of town during the summer to visit Rennes and the banks of the Rance River, or even Mont Saint-Michel and the Côtes d’Armor. In the evening, you can walk to Bas Sablons Beach or Solidor for a drink—both are pleasant neighborhoods within walking distance. We recommend visiting Saint-Suliac, one of the most beautiful villages in France, located 15 minutes south of Saint-Malo, Dinan, a medieval town 30 minutes away; take the boat from Intra Muros to Dinard—you’ll have a magnificent view of the pirate city from the sea—and if you have time, why not spend a day or a weekend on the Channel Islands off the coast of Saint-Malo: Jersey is 1 hour from Saint-Malo (passport required for stays longer than one day), and Guernsey is a 2-hour ferry ride away (you must stay at least one night; passport required). The ferry terminal is a 15-minute walk from the apartment.
