"Booked this hotel thru Expedia and got a very good price. It is just around the corner from the Hartford train and bus stations so it's wonderfully convenient. Just a few issues - First, the front door on Asylum Street is locked, with no sign to tell folks to walk around to the side entrance. Second - when we opened the door to our room, we found that IT HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED after the previous guests checked out - bed not made, used towels all over the bathroom (!) The clerk apologized and gave us another room - mistakes are made, but this was so dumb! Third - the bathroom faucets had crud on them (not just tarnish, but some gunk that could have been scrubbed off). Fourth - nice breakfast room, but no packets of half & half for coffee, only those flavored Coffee Mate thingies; there was 2% milk in the fridge for cereal, but this was almost gone; instead of scrambled eggs they had these rubbery egg disks. Despite my 3-star rating, I would still stay at the Capitol because of the convenient location."

"I was pretty surprised at how clean, walkable and nice west Hartford was. Easy to find a spot for dinner nearby. The hotel and staff are great. It’s more expensive but this is a case of getting what I paid for. I have zero complaints about my stay"

"We had a lovely stay! There was plenty of room for our group, we enjoyed the beautiful view of the golf course, and we were only 10 min away from the shops and restaurants. "

"The apartment was great, everything was just like the pictures. The kitchen has modern appliances making our short stay with quick meals very convenient. The host was quick to respond and resolve issues which was very much appreciated. "

"The host was welcoming and gave ideas of things to do in the area. However, the oven door was broken and didn’t close all the way. Having severe food allergies, we used the kitchen for every meal and it made it a little difficult to cook with. When I messaged her she said she was aware of it but did not provide that information before we booked. We also never heard from her the day of checkout. I sent her a text message, left a voicemail and a message on the Vrbo app, all of which were never responded to. Overall a good stay, just hope there was nothing extra we were supposed to do at checkout besides taking out the trash, doing the dishes and making the bed. We brought our own bedding and towels due to my allergies with smells/detergents. "

"Our family of four adults appreciated all the attention to detail provided during our three-night stay. From pantry items to having available items like tooth brushes and cords for electronics, we felt welcome. We could walk to Whole Foods and Blue Back Square. We will most assuredly consider this home on our next visit to West Hartford. Thank you!"

"Just a charming great home, really cool history, and great upkeep and renovation. Loved the property backing up to trout brook and walking distance to Whole Foods, and shopping, Dinning, etc. Quiet neighborhood. Just an absolutely fantastic stay!"

"Alexander was a very good host—very responsive when we asked questions. Very nice house and each bed room was spacious with a large closet and a TV. The kitchen was updated with modern appliances. "

"This charming apartment was exactly as described and even better in person. I traveled solo to be near family for the weekend and the location couldn't have been any more perfect. Mark had everything possible there to make a comfortable home away from home. The house is just about a 4 minute walk to shopping and restaurants yet located in a quiet residential neighborhood. I did not cook meals in the adorable kitchen, but easily could have because everything in the way of utensils, dishes,, etc. was available. Mark even had a robe and slippers to use which was fantastic as I didn't bring any with me! The instructions were clear and easy to follow for the keypad entrance as well as parking on the property. I look forward to staying again and longer if available the next time I return to West Hartford. Mark is a wonderful host and this is a quality rental, no need to search any further! "
