Playa Sa Roqueta (Platja de Sa Roqueta) is one of the smallest beaches in Formentera, one of the Balearic Islands. It’s quite secluded and has rocky areas, little bays with white sand and blue-green waters full of fish. Discover a cove where you can relax by the Mediterranean Sea, away from more touristy places on the island.
Swim in the shallow and clear waters of Playa Sa Roqueta. If you like snorkeling, this beach is a great spot to see fish of different shapes, sizes and colors. Snorkel around the rocks peeking out of the sea to find interesting sea life. The water is usually calm along this part of the Formentera coast, which makes Playa Sa Roqueta a good option for families with children.
As at many other beaches in Formentera, at Playa Sa Roqueta you’ll probably see some bathers wearing swimsuits and others who prefer to go topless or entirely nude. People on the island tend to be very respectful about nude swimming and sunbathing and see it as a common practice. During the summer, the beach gets more visitors. If you want to bathe nude, find private spots on the little bays scattered around the area.
A small restaurant behind Playa Sa Roqueta serves traditional Spanish dishes on a terrace overlooking the beach. Have your meal while enjoying lovely views of the bay and the greater sea.
Find Playa Sa Roqueta at the northern end of the island of Formentera island, between the beaches Playa Es Pujols and Playa de Levante. It’s about 2.5 miles (4 kilometers) from the port village La Savina. Drive on the road that goes around the lagoon Estany Pudent toward Es Pujols area. Along the street you’ll see signs indicating the way to the beach. Local buses that start at the Formentera port can take you to the area as well. From the bus stop walk 5 minutes to get to Playa Sa Roqueta.
