Very quiet, lovely space to stay while visiting family in Rutherfordton. We didn't have a chance to explore the property, but the farmhouse itself was lovely, clean, and well-equipped.

Wonderful stay in the farmhouse guest quarters. Loved walking the trails. The glass chapel was beautiful to go to at night. Everything was excellent. Will definitely be back to stay at the cabins on the property.

The owners were very friendly. The guest suite was beautiful and fully stocked. Our stay was very comfortable and convenient. The grounds were also very lovely. I only wished i had more time to enjoy it.

Just What The Doctor Ordered

This is an AMAZING place for solitude, reflection, and soul/spirit healing. It was exactly what we needed, when we needed it. Our hosts responded to requests quickly and were so accommodating when I chose the wrong check out date (1 day less than I thought) so we didn’t need to find a place to stay for one night.

Great Stay!

I enjoyed my stay at the farmhouse. The location was great! The property was beautiful! I loved exploring the trails, seeing the glass chapel, and the bell tower. Laura and Steve were so friendly and were helpful when we needed it. Overall it was a great stay!

Wonderful relaxing sisters time

We loved the property and the lodging. Working with Laura was fantastic. The property is full of history and beauty and Laura shared some of that history with us. If you want a great getaway place, this is a great place to share with close friends/family.

Love this place!

This is our 3rd stay on the property and 2nd stay in the farmhouse. My daughter lives in Rutherfordton so we spent most of our time with her to include visiting Biltmore, which took all of Sunday. We stayed from Friday evening to Sunday morning. No time to explore as we have done in the past.

Getting Back to Nature

The Farmhouse was just perfect for the three of us. Upstairs bedroom/bath was private as well as the downstairs bed/bath. We loved the open living and kitchen area - very comfortable with lovely furnishings. The kitchen was well stocked and we loved the outdoor eating area and landscaping was beautiful

peaceful sanctuary

a beautiful place where owners Steve and Laura, caretakers of the land, flora and fauna have artfully integrated gardens and sacred spaces within the natural environment. the guest quarters of the farmhouse were comfortable and thoughtfully furnished for myself and two sisters who also enjoyed hearing about the history of The Preserve from Steve. thank you for a lovely stay. we would be happy to return one day...

Great cabin!

Great place to stay, beautiful property. It was not the original place I had booked but due to an error the host was able to get me into a different cabin. My husband and I enjoyed our stay in the woods. The cracks in the floor are a bit wide so careful with your toes. A few minor cleaning issues but nothing that hindered our stay. Overall a great place and I would recommend the red roof cabin to other people.

Peaceful Escape

This property is impressive with so much history! Our farmhouse was immaculately clean, comfortable, and cozy. Steve is a phenomenal history buff with so much history to share! We will be visiting again to explore more of the property and all of its wonder.

Awesome property

This ranks in the top five places we’ve ever stayed! Very comfortable guest house and the grounds were absolutely awesome!!! Several miles of trails with benches along the way. We highly recommend!!!! There are three cabins on the property that can be rented for a gathering of family and friends. This is also a lovely event space for weddings and larger gatherings. Not far from the Town of Rutherfordton and less than an hour from Tryon Equestrian Center.We will definitely return!

Relaxing

I loved this stay ! My daughter and I stayed here while at a horse show at the tryon international equestrian center. It was only 17 min away and it was so nice to have our separate bedroom and bathroom. I wish that we had more time to spend at farmhouse since there were many trails to walk but we spent most of our time at the show !
