Emma, the host, was wonderful, pleasant, and interesting. She doesn't speak any English, and I only know a few words of Italian, but she had a voice translator, and we made it work. We stayed one night, and she prepared a breakfast - heated a nice chocolate croissant and made a very good cappuccino. The place is small. Basically just a kitchen, a room for her, and a guest room. The kitchen and guest room are decorated in a rather wild style, with some art created by her family. This is most unique place you're likely to stay at. The big caution though is that the listing advertises air-conditioning. This isn't true. The room contains a fan with some evaporative cooling, but that's not A/C. There's a small basement window to street level, when open, you hear people above walking by. I can't confirm wifi. I didn't ask, but I didn't see any open wifi, and no wifi info was given. The area looks a little rough, but we were out at night and it still felt safe. It's nice that this property is right next to the train station - easy access to the airport. The immediate area, and area to the south are not touristy. This is the "real" Rome. Within easy walking distance to the north, you get into the more touristy area of Trastevere.

Emma, the lady who runs this property is kind and generou. From the moment we arrived she treated us like family. She sjowed us our room and gave us time to relax and settle in while she prepared a wonderful Italian lunch for us and we talked and ate and drank wine and she shared stories and tips on the neighborhood. The next morning she had a wonderful breakfast for us. She drove us around to ahow us some beautiful sites ( non tourist sites) and rhen dropped us off at Vatican City. Above and beyond what you'd expect from renting a room for a few days. The room was clean and safe. The neighborhood was safe and convenient for restaurants and shopping. If you want to see Vatican City, The Colliseum, The Vatican and orher ateas of Rome you'll need to get a taxi as the apartment is not walking distance to any of these. There are many cafes, restaurants, pizzeria's, bars, etc. that are within walking distance.

Great stay in Rome

Check in was easy. Host was friendly and happy to assist with any questions we had regarding attractions and inner city transportation. Each morning we were provided with a beautiful breakfast and the most delicious cappuccino. This host goes above and beyond to help you enjoy your stay. We extended our stay and she graciously accommodated our request. The property was beautiful and decorated in a way that compliments Rome. Easy to get around. I would highly recommend this property. Great value

Great stay close to Trastevere

We had a wonderful time in Rome thanks to Emma, the hostess, a super friendly and kind Italian lady. Anything you need she’ll do her best to accommodate you. She serves traditional Roman breakfast with fresh Italian pastries and coffee, alongside a good chat and recommendations. Rooms are kept in good condition, and very clean despite being in the basement. Clean towels and bed sheets every day. We would definitely choose Emma again if we went back to Rome.

Kælderværelse, ikke hotel.

Dette er ikke et hotel, men en lille nedslidt kælderlejlighed i en baggård. Der udlejes to små værelser med bad. Hertil et fælles all-rum, hvor værtinden tilbereder en god cappuccino, der sammen med en kage, udgør morgenmaden. Kælderen virker fugtig og lugter lidt af skimmel. Vinduerne er små, og spærret med tremmer. Man vil aldrig kunne bruge dem i tilfælde af brand. Rummene er fantasifuldt dekoreret, i en stil jeg ikke har set andre steder - men ret underholdende. Der alsolut ingen gårdhave, som lovet i omtalen. Det er en stor baggård, med højt græs, ukrudt affald, og ingen møbler overhovedet. Værtinden er lyspunktet. Yderst elskværdig og hjælpsom. Hun taler ikke engelsk og vores forsøg med at tale med hende i telefonen inden ankomst, for at bestille transfer fra lufthavnen, førte ikke til andet end spild af tid. Området er ikke den mest spændende del at Trastevere, men det er let at komme videre med bus og tog. Alt i alt, er vi skuffede og indkvarteringen. Den svarer slet ikke til beskrivelsen.

Emma is a lovely host and made us very welcome, also preparing breakfast for us prior to our departure. Going very much above and beyond anything we could have expected Emma even drove us to the railway station after arranging a taxi proved impossible. The property itself is a basement apartment in a building of multiple occupancy and is some distance (30 mins walk) from the main tourist areas
