**Charming Cabin Overlooking the Upper Meramec River – Peaceful Retreat Near Steelville, MO**

Welcome to **Three Pine Cabin**, a cozy and secluded getaway perched above the scenic Upper Meramec River. Located just 5 miles off I-44 (exit 208) and only 3 miles from Steelville, MO, this charming cabin is the perfect home base for a relaxing weekend or adventurous river escape.

Whether you're floating, fishing (this stretch is known for trophy smallmouth bass), swimming, or exploring local attractions, you'll be in the heart of it all. Three top-rated outfitters are located within 5 miles, offering canoe, kayak, raft, and tube rentals. One outfitter even has a convenient put-in spot just below the cabin—you can walk there, float the river, and they'll shuttle you back afterward.

**The Space**
Ideal for families or small groups, the cabin comfortably sleeps up to 7 guests.

**Outdoor Living**
Step out onto the deck and take in beautiful views of the river below. River access is just a short walk or drive away (less than 1/4 mile). Guests are welcome to use the private river access at **Birds Nest Lodge**, one of our local partners. Please be mindful of floaters putting in—Saturdays from morning to early afternoon are typically busiest.

Whether you're here for a peaceful retreat or outdoor adventure, Three Pine Cabin offers the perfect blend of comfort, charm, and nature.

Sorry, there is NO internet. We are not able to get any providers to service the area at this time. Enjoy the time to unplug, enjoy the quite time, enjoy one another and enjoy nature.

Local attractions are Meramec Spring State Park, Dillard Mill State Park, the Meramec Music Theater, Wildwild Springs Lodge fall concert series, numerous vineyards and antiquing.

Note: If you look up the address on Google Maps or MapQuest they both have the location marked incorrectly. The cabin is located down the first left drive off of Idlewild Road. The cabin sets above the river.

Great weekend getaway

This is the second time my wife and I have stayed here. We brought our family this time. We had a great time. The cabin was clean and comfortable. We love the outside covered patio and convenient access to the river.

Easter Vacation

Even though the rain seemed to go on forever... The cabin, the surroundings, the river where all fantastic. I had so much fun fishing and playing ball with my grandsons. It was a vacation we all will remember.

This was a nice, secluded stay with great outdoor space. We floated with Bird's Nest Lodge, as recommended by the owner, and it couldn't have been easier. We walked down to the water where they had a raft waiting for us, floated, then the Bird's Nest team dropped us off at the cabin. So convenient and they were friendly and easy to work with. The cabin had everything you need. I would not count on using the pull out - not in great shape.

We love this place. Its super easy to check in, the river is just down the road and Bird’s Nest Rafts put in at the same spot. Cozy and comfortable! This is our 5th stay.

Great cabin w/ minor gripe

Great little cabin for a weekend, only gripe we had was the cabin was a little dirtier than we would have liked, there was a bunch of dog hair on all the furniture and what appeared to be mold in the back of the blinds in the master bedroom. Beyond that, it's a great cabin to have a getaway as a couple or a float trip.

Great outdoor spaces!

The cabin is out of the way yet still super close to river access. A ton of amenities and wonderful outdoor spaces! We did wish the fire pit was on flatter ground and didn't have uneven steps to get to it; that made navigating in the dark difficult. But we loved our stay and hope to return!

Perfect getaway

My husband and I really needed to get away and unwind. So we booked this little piece of Heaven and it was amazing. We couldn’t have picked a better place. If you need to slow down, reconnect, and relax this is the perfect place.

This was a perfect spot and cabin for our girls trip. River was super flooded which we didnt mind, added white noise :) All three of us ladies plan on coming back for another great vacation, esp when we can play in tje river.

Solo Getaway

I found this beautiful cabin for a solo getaway, away from work and KC. It was absolutely perfect. The location and scenery were just what I needed. The kitchen and living room are very spacious. This felt more like a two bedroom house instead of a getaway cabin which was definitely not a bad thing. I'm already looking forward to staying here again.

Very secluded

The road is rather rough and we went through the wrong gate the first time lol. When you see a small 3 pines cabin sign next to the green gate keep going it's not that one it's an arrow telling you to go farther.

Peaceful Getaway!

Very cozy, clean, private cabin in a secluded location. It’s a perfect place for a city dwelling couple in their seventies to get out in the woods (literally!) and hear nothing but the wind in the trees, multiple birdsongs, and rippling water in the distance. There is Direct TV so we could still catch up with our preferred news channel. It’s quite close to the town of Cuba which has plenty of stores for provisions and two very nice antique malls…plus quite a few restaurants for a small town. We’ve been floating the Meramec and staying in many different cabins over 50 years, and this will be our “go to” place in the future. We plan to come back hear to enjoy each of the four seasons. Thanks to the owners for sharing their lovely cabin at such a reasonable price. Phil & Mary
