  • El Escorial was built by King Philip II in the late 16th century to serve as both a royal palace and as the seat of the Catholic Church in Spain. In addition to the palace the complex includes a basilica, a convent, a school, a library, and a pantheon. While El Escorial is impressive from the outside, we actually found it a little austere on the inside. In many ways it felt more like a fine art museum than a typically elaborate European palace (such as Versailles). That said, there are some impressive sights, including works by El Greco, Bernini, and Giardini. The library was also quite beautiful, with richly carved wood shelves, a marble floor, and a colorful fresco ceiling by Pellegrino Tibaldi. For me, the highlight of the tour was the 180ft long (55m) Hall of Battles – a barrel-vaulted room where the walls were completely covered in frescos depicting Spain's military victories over the Moors and the French. All aspects of the battle field were portrayed (when you have 180ft, that is quite doable), and the artist employed an interesting trick whereby the more distant, smaller scenes were less saturated, and the background mountains and landscape were set in hues of blue. Overall I'd say El Escorial is worth a visit, but you probably won't need more than a couple of hours to enjoy it.

We had a great stay at Pablo’s. The house was cozy and we loved the outdoor spaces. It was great having access to the pool at the social club. Great place!!

Casa con parcela en Robledo de Chavela

El interior de la casa tiene de todo lo necesario para 2-4 personas. La parcela exterior es enorme y hay barbacoa un pequeño columpio y hasta gallinas. Se puede acceder desde la calle a través de una verja que desemboca en una rampa que llega hasta la puerta de la casa. Está ubicada en una urbanización tranquila (Río Cofio) y a dos pasos está el campo con muchas rutas de senderismo para realizar por la zona. Por mejorar bastante, diría que deben realizar una buena reforma ya que había persianas que no funcionaban bien, ventanas que no cerraban del todo, alguna puerta tenía piquetes o pequeños agujeros...

Buen alojamiento para ir con tus mascotas, disfrutan muchísimo en el jardín de la casa y sobre todo con las rutas que hay cerca La casa es pequeña pero muy acogedora, tiene de todo El dueño de la casa muy profesional y atento, cualquier duda que teníamos nos contestaba al momento

Buena estancia en familia

La casa está muy bien. No es muy grande en su interior pero suficiente para 5 personas, no tiene chimenea sino estufa de leña. La parcela con barbacoa de leña, corral de gallinas, porche... está fenomenal y la terraza con vistas a la sierra tambien. Wifi, calefacción... todo ok. Trato con propietario muy bueno. Pasamos unos días en familia muy buenos.

Acogedor

Estuvimos muy a gusto en familia, la casa dispone de todo tipo de utensilios y el espacio está muy bien aprovechado. La barbacoa y la terraza también las hemos aprovechado a pesar del frío. Nos costó un poco coger el truco para tener la temperatura perfecta en la casa pero una vez lo conseguimos tuvimos una temperatura estupenda. Un puntazo el columpio y las gallinas para disfrute de las peques. Cerca hay varias rutas y restaurantes. Sin duda, repetiremos si surge la ocasión.

Fin de semana encantador

Pasamos un fin de semana encantador. La casita es acogedora, tranquila y está muy limpia y bien cuidada. El mobiliario de madera y la librería producen una sensación hogareña muy cálida. El trato con Pablo, el anfitrión, inigualable, muy pendiente por si necesitábamos algo siempre. Además, su terraza es perfecta para divisar con los prismáticos de la fauna que habita la zona: corzos, águilas, buitres... Disfrutamos mucho de un paseo y de una pequeña ruta bordeando el río Cofio, que está a tan solo 50 metros del alojamiento. La estancia es más que recomendable tanto como para un viaje familiar, como para un encuentro afable y jocoso con amigos. Experiencia sobresaliente que ya estamos planeando repetir.
