Pier Cottage in beautiful Kinlochbervie, in the unspoiled North West Sutherland

8/10 Good
"Decent prefab house, nice to have two bathrooms including a bath and one an ensuite. Quite old decor/furniture, but did the job. Loved the games, especially the 80s game of life! Functional kitchen although dishwasher needed salt/rinse aid and didn't work on last day. It was clean but a few dog hairs when we swept floor and cobwebs/spiders. Kinlochbervie is a quiet place, there's no pub or anything to do, but house conveniently opposite spa shop. A good base to explore the surrounding area."

A pretty detached single storey cottage set in its own grounds.

10/10 Excellent
"We had a quiet week over New Year there. The cottage can not be faulted, and the view is stunning! You do need a car, of course, and be comfortable with single-track roads in the mountains. It's actually a fairly modern building, with underfloor heating (and an environmentally friendly underground heat pump), but the wood burner helps getting cosy in the evening. Neighbours are at a reasonable distance."
