Einladendes Cottage

Das Cottage war sehr gut ausgestattet und gemütlich eingerichtet.Die Kinlochbervie umgebene Natur ist großartig und der Ort ein guter Ausgangspunkt für kleine und größere Ausflüge.Der Kontakt zur Vermieterin war persönlich und sehr angenehm, wie wir überhaupt die Leute in der Umgebung freundlich und aufgeschlossen erlebt haben.Wir kommen gerne wieder in den Norden!

The cottage is stunning and spacious. Kinlochbervie is ideally located to visit the NW area and its amazing beaches and countryside.Mhairi made us welcome, popped round to say hello. Nothing else could be asked from her. An excellent holiday.

Sehr komfortable Unterkunft in herrlicher Landschaft

Die Kommunikation mit unserer sehr freundlichen Vermieterin war unkompliziert und hilfreich. Das Ferienhaus mit Garten war sehr schön und gemütlich eingerichtet, geräumig, hell und sehr gut gepflegt. Es ist ein idealer Ausgangspunkt um die wunderschöne und ruhige Gegend des Nordwestens zu erkunden. Die Versorgung ist ganz einfach, ein Lebensmittelgeschäft sowie ein einfaches Restaurant sind ganz in der Nähe und zu Fuß erreichbar. Wir haben die Zeit dort sehr genossen!

Outstanding in every way

What a wonderful stay in a beautiful, comfortable bungalow. Everything in the house was of a high standard and it was a splendid base from which we could explore the area on foot or by car. Mairi and Willie were delightful and attentive hosts. We appreciated being able to get super fresh prawns from Willie and having a well stocked shop literally across the road was really helpful. On two evenings we also had three red deer in the garden who departed when the cameras/ phones came out as we watched from the lounge! Comfortable, warm and plenty to do and see, in spite of not being able to get to Handa or Cape Wrath due to ferries being off but did the Sandwood Bay walk- a long wished for destination. Highly recommended .. and thank you

Lovely stay at Pier Cottage

This was a perfect respite for us as we travelled through Scotland for 3 1/2 weeks. We were able to spread out, get laundry done and relax in the mornings! We made breakfast and planned our days. Very well appointed cottage! Smoo cave and Handa Island were must sees!

A lovely place to be

Pier Cottage in Kinlochbervie is a wonderful place to stay, particularly for families and nature lovers. The cottage is tastefully decorated with great attention to detail, creating a cozy and stylish atmosphere. Located in the charming fishing village of Kinlochbervie, it's an excellent base for exploring the natural beauty of the region. The stunning Oldshoremore Beach is easily accessible, and while there's no direct sea view, the shoreline is just a few steps away. Communication with the host was smooth and friendly via WhatsApp, and the cottage was spotless and well-maintained. During our stay, we visited Ardvreck Castle, the Smoo Cave in Durness, and hiked to Eas a' Chual Aluinn Waterfall. We also enjoyed a fantastic meal at The Old School House. Pier Cottage is an ideal spot for those looking to explore the rugged beauty of northwest Scotland. Highly recommended!

Superb Cottage as base

Great location to tour Sutherland, we went as far south as Ullapool and North to Bettyhill. Visited too many places to mention but my favourite was Balnakeil Bay, huge beach great for your dogs and easy to access. Lots of amazing scenery, the picnic area by Kinlochbervie beach had two resident stags in the green fenced field. Mairi and Willie great friendly hosts, be sure to order your Lobster, Prawns and Crabs, they were amazing and such good value. Will definitely return.

A perfect place to relax ..

Our second visit to this delightful cottage . The weather wasn't to bad at all .and we ate outside in the sunshine . We enjoy the friendly atmosphere of Kinlochbervie and we'll be looking to return again next year ..

Perfect

Pier Cottage provides the perfect base from which to explore Kinlochbervie and NW Scotland. The cottage was spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed for a week’s stay. We really enjoyed our time there.

A relaxing week .

We just pottered around KLB and enjoyed the brilliant scenery . It's a friendly place and excellent to relax. The cottage was perfect and had everything we needed . There were sunny days and wet ones but we enjoyed our stay immensely .. We are seriously thinking about rebooking for 2024 ... Thanks for a great week Mairi .... What’s not to like?

The location is perfect, for exploring this part of beautiful Sutherland. The cottage was spotless and welcoming, a really well equipped kitchen with good appliances, and all the rooms were spacious and airy. There was a Spar shop close at hand which was a real bonus . The garden was a welcome oasis of green in this hot weather. The hosts Mairi and Willie were attentive and on hand for any problems ( of which there weren’t ) , they called in, which is always so nice , to check we had all we needed. We were immediately at home here. There is absolutely nothing , ‘ not to like’ we had a great holiday.

Bird watching holiday

Absolutely beautiful location, the accommodation had everything we could want for. Hosts Mairi and Willie greeted us warmly on arrival, supplied us with copious amounts of prawns and venison and were really friendly and helpful. Well stocked shop opposite. Lots to see and do. Will definitely be back.

A very comfy stay

This is a very nice, comfortable, well equipped bungalow with a pretty secure doggie garden. Great location for exploring and only 2 miles from Oldshoremore beach. The owners were really friendly and helpful.

House is very clean, well equipped and comfortable. Easy access to shop and cafes. Not far from the harbour, the pub and not far from the beautiful oldshoremore beach. Enjoyed our stay.

Peaceful holiday

This was a lovely comfortable and clean property. It had all that you required for cooking. The showers were the most powerful we have ever had in a holiday let. One small fault, if your bigger like me the cubicle is quite small and the over bath shower curtain does stick to you but that is not a complaint more an observation, if your skinny no problem! The setting in Kinlochbervie is lovely with mature gardens at the cottage and Loch Closh two minute walk from property. You can see it from garden gate. A five minute walk to the working harbour and the lovely Quay House cafe, well worth a visit. Situated across from a well stocked Spar that sold a large range of food and drink, fresh fruit and veg etc. The cottage is well situated for touring both lower down the west coast to Ullapool and also up towards Tongue. We purchased crab and lobster from our hosts Mairi and Willie who made us very welcome as did any locals we spoke to.

Great base for touring the North West Highlands

Initial impression of the cottage is disappointing as is at the edge of the industrial estate rather than at the Loch/harbour as we expected but very clean and comfortable and only 5 minutes walk to the Loch side -Spar across the road very handy and surprisingly reasonable prices-easy access to beautiful beach at Oldshoremore and great eating options at the Quay for coffee/lunch and the Old Schoolhouse for Dinner and takeaway-would be happy to recommend and return

Accommodation and location were wonderful

The cottage is like a home from home. Everything is there that you would possibly need. It is so clean, comfortable and spacious. And the hosts were wonderful.

Super Haus / Super Lage

Wir ( 49, 53 Jahre) waren mit unseren Töchtern ( 15, 17 Jahre) für eine Woche in diesem sehr gut ausgestatteten Haus im Urlaub. Die Umgebung ist sehr reizvoll, insbesondere die schönen Strände ( Oldshoremore Beach 5 Minuten mit dem Auto) luden täglich zum Spazierengehen ein. Menschenleer auch der Sandwood Bay Beach ( Wanderung hin/zurück 3,5 Std.). Ausflüge zur Handa Insel und Old man of Stoer sind sehr zu empfehlen! Das Essen in der Old School ist sehr gut(Tisch reservieren) und auch Durness mit der Golden Zipline ist zu empfehlen. Haus: die drei Zimmer und zwei Bäder machen das Haus sehr geräumig, der Minimarkt (Spar) direkt durchs Gartentor und schon ist man dort, hat alles notwendige im Sortiment! Die Küche ist ausreichend ausgestattet um sich selbst zu versorgen. Waschmaschine und Trockner sind ebenfalls vorhanden. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist super. Sehr zu empfehlen!!!
