"The host greeted us at the gate with keys and a quick tour of the lovely property. This house is the best location in which we have ever stayed: Attention to detail is evident everywhere from the bed and bath linens to the kitchenware to the overall design of the unit’s layout. Very clean and brightly lit, yet with excellent privacy. The neighborhood is quiet and quite suitable for a stroll to view others' gardens. Guest comfort is paramount though and through."

This rural, private location suited us very well as we had our own transport, being within easy reach of Porto, Douro Valley, beaches and Braga. So much more besides we didn’t explore. "The fact the hotel is next to a huge church is amazing. The hotel is located centrally making access easy to all parts of the city. The rooms are all modern even though the building itself is centuries old. The beds are large and firm and the bathrooms are huge with a great shower. We had a balcony that had morning sun to start our day. The included breakfast was quite good with numerous options. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant which all made our stay very enjoyable!"
