Amazing property! True 5 star service and accommodations. If I could give than 5 stars, I would! One of the best properties we have stayed at. Thanks to Jay and team for a memorable stay!! Highly recommended!!
This was a standout experience for us. If you have the chance to stay here, do! The staff make this a very special experience - nothing is too great an ask. The breakfast is superb, the afternoon snacks, canapés and cakes is a lovely touch and we loved our stay.
From the moment we checked in until the time we departed, the staff at Hulbert House paid special attention to our every need. They were friendly, warm and very knowledgeable on local activities and restaurants. Breakfast was outstanding and drinks and snacks were available around-the-clock. And the suites were five-star all the way. We will return to this lovely place in 2025!!
Easily one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. The rooms balance honoring the Victorian history, with modern comforts. Our room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom modern. The main lounge is incrediblly comfortable and inviting, with tea and snacks available. The location is fantastic, only a 5 minute walk into the heart of Queenstown. The service is what sets this hotel apart. The multitude of small touches really make staying here a fantastic experience (the cooked to order included breakfast, drinks and baked goods throughout the day, water at night, packed breakfasts & lunches for early morning day trips, etc.), and the entire team that runs this property are friendly, helpful and dedicated to making your stay as enjoyable as possible.
We stayed in two different rooms as we added a night last minute. The decor was fun; the bathrooms were exquisite; the space spacious. Breakfast was delightful and tasty. Happy hour was a nice touch and allowed us to meet other guests. The front porch had the most spectacular view of the town and water and was enjoyable to hang out on.The hostesses were gracious, helped with reservations, luggage and parking the car. A delightful stay.
The Hulbert House is the best place I have ever stayed. The property itself is gorgeous and its location perfect. But what made this place so special was the staff. My friend and I had just come off a Viking cruise, where half the staff and passengers, including us, became sick with a respiratory illness. On arrival the staff anticipated our every need, before we knew we had them. They brought ginger tea and honey to our rooms as we settled in. They then made dinner reservations for us and drove us into town and picked us up even though it was walkable, because we were sick. They made arrangements for us to be picked up the following morning for our Milford/Doubtful Sound overnight cruise. They kindly kept our luggage for us as we were going to return after the overnight cruise. When we returned it felt like a homecoming, we were greeted so warmly, and again with tea and honey. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Hulbert House is really a very special place.
Beautiful old house renovated to the highest quality .
Beautiful staff , they go to the next level making your stay very special.
great position short walk into town .
six beautifully decorated rooms.
luxury king beds and linen.
and what a great breakfast and coffee and cake all day.
special mention to Jade and Jay the managers , such warm and special people .
I lucked into this spot as I rearranged my itinerary back to Queenstown. Upon arrival, I was greeted by Carolina, who knew my name and welcomed me to the Inn. The staff goes BEYOND and truly cares about your stay. The Inn itself is truly breathtaking. Beautiful design with intimate details and amenities - plush robes to the most luxurious bed! Jay and Carolina made my stay with providing excellent recommendations, dialogue, and food/drinks. I honestly don’t have the right words to capture this experience. If you are able to book this stay, you will not regret it! Did I mention there is an incredible wine/canopy hour/s and unbelievable breakfast? Again ... Im so looking forward to ‘returning home’ to the Inn. I teach hospitality and tourism and can only hope that my students will be able to replicate this type of hospitality and attention to detail. Also, the location is close to town center. A bit of a hill ... but helps you work off your dinner for a dessert at the Inn!
This property is great and very central. The staff go out of their way to make you feel at home. It has 6 guest rooms, two upstairs and 4 in the first floor. We were placed in one of the two rooms upstairs. These are attic rooms with a nice view of the lake, but extremely small (less than 200 square feet or 20 square meter) with very low ceiling (7 feet or 2.5 meters in the center that reduces to 4 or 1.3 meters on the sides). The staff tried to put us into one of the first floor rooms that was much larger in the 2nd night of our stay, but that room was adjacent to the hotel entrance with high noise and frequent traffic. So, we decided to stay in the room. I would be still willing to go this hotel again, but will make sure to ask ahead of time to book me in one the three nicer rooms in the first floor. Note that the room rate is still the same!
We could not have had a better stay at the Hulbert House. The accommodations were top notch and the service from the host staff made the stay worth every cent. There is a lovely full breakfast each morning and a happy hour each evening. The rooms had lovely decor and spared no detail. Easy three-minute walk to the heart of downtown. When we return to Queenstown, we will only stay here.
