I have been to newer RIU properties for eg RIU Ocho Rios in Jamaica and it was beautiful there. But RIU Punta Palace is nice too. But not as new as RIU Ocho Rios. Still enjoyed my time because the staff was wonderful

The service was good, room service, house keeping and mini fridge stocking was very good. We had a butler, Ray, but only saw him once apon arrival. He answered whenever we messaged though. We are very low maintenance so no complaints.

The pool, beach and rooms are great. Food was better than another resort we went to. Our butler Esterling went out of his way to make out stay better (he made the reservations we needed and set up a birthday surprise for my husband, as well as checking in on us to see if we needed anything else). He made our trip better.
