"Beautiful boutique lodge at remote rainforest location. Delicious food and very friendly staff. Location at a hill allowed for beautiful views and birdwatching, with a pair of Scarlet Macaws breeding in a tree right on the property. Access for the last 2 miles after the airstrip requires SUV, but lodge also offers convenient airport pickup from Puerto Jimenez."

"This is a lovely place, but I can't give it a great review because on the day we checked-in no one was available at the hotel to answer the phone. Answering the phone when you have guest traveling from out of country, and to a very remote location is standard basic custom service. For whatever reason we could not find our email confirmation the day we were scheduled to arrive and we called and called for 5 hours straight on a Saturday between 12noon-5pm and no one answered the phone. "Really great staff who really know the area and cultivate the farm. They can give you information on ecology you won't find outside of guided tour groups in the park, and there's also yoga. The property is beautiful and it is easy to see birds.
It is a pretty primitive property and so you should be expecting bug bites and no modern comforts. Bathing in rainwater is amazing, but it is also not warm. Also the ants really bite- I was itchy for a week afterward. So be careful. "

"The Drake Bay Getaway was an unexpected delight! Views from the room were exquisite, as each villa is perched on a hillside with an ocean view. The manager was extremely helpful and spent time explaining about the surrounding area and animal life. We felt as if we were staying with family!
Meals were beautifully prepared, offering a sampling of the local food. The location was great too, allowing for quiet relaxation, yet still convenient for activities."

"The road up is bumpy but easy in little Suzuki SUV. You can get food delivered to your lodging from town. The site is actually surrounded by rainforest, not some then agricultural land. Wildlife and fauna everywhere and facilities are excellent. It is off grid so a/c went off, not power, at night but the ceiling fan was powerfully and we were very comfortable sleeping. I’m coming back."
"I want to start by saying that my wife and I very much enjoyed our 7 day stay. With that said it's web site states that it is the only luxury resort on the beach which in our opinion is stretching the word luxury a bit. To us its luxury is not in the facility, which is a bit rustic, but rather the natural setting that surrounds it. Beautiful macaws, howler monkeys, iguanas, tapir, hawk, other wild life in the area, lush green environment and of course the sound of the beach surf all day long.
We found it to be a great place for relaxing and enjoying our surroundings. We enjoyed the jacuzzi and the pool every night surrounded the nature. The lodge is about 4 kilometers from the small town of Puerto Jimenez on a pothole filled dirt road. Suggest that guests rent a car or you wont be able to get around much to participate in the many other nature activities in the Osa area. The staff, which included the owner, was great (in particular Oliver and Mardi). Overall we give the lodge a definite thumbs up."

"Super beautiful spot. We saw most of the wildlife we saw while touring Corcovado while lounging on the veranda and swimming in the pool! Really a special spot!"
"If you want to be right in the middle of nature and wildlife this is the place to go. Most of the resort is raised up into the treetops so you can be eye level with creatures you'd usually only see way above you from the ground. The included hikes and birdwatching were wonderful with very knowledgeable and passionate guides. We also arranged a day trip to Corcovado by boat through the lodge in advance, seems pricey at first but was well worth it. Over the course of a week we saw sloths (lodge & Corcovado), monkeys (everywhere), tapirs (Corcovado), ant eaters (lodge and Corcovado), coatis (lodge), frogs and lizards (lodge) and so many different birds (everywhere). We chose a forest bungalow room which is just screened in from the outside. I was a bit worried the lack of AC might make it too hot to sleep, but at the end of April the fans in the room were enough to keep us comfortable over night. No need for alarm clocks, the howler monkeys will get you up every day. Overall a fantastic nature focused lodge that combines the ability to relax with adventure."

"Unique and very special! This rustic home was a truly one-of-a-kind property and provided a great experience for our family. The location is private and secluded, yet not far off the highway. It truly feels like a jungle camp--the monkeys, tropical birds, lizards, and frogs in the surrounding forest gave it such a wild feel! The pool is large, clean, and shaded and was an added bonus.Do be aware, however, that this is mostly NOT an air conditioned property. The master bedroom (upstairs) is the only space that has air conditioning. The downstairs common area and kitchen, as well as the upstairs sleeping loft, are only cooled with fans and windows, so if heat is a concern for you, you might need to plan accordingly. That said, it was the perfect place for our family to stay while on the Osa Peninsula! It is very clean and our hosts, Gerardo and Beatriz, were accommodating and wonderful."
