We went for our honeymoon and here is a very honest review:
Pros: food was great, staff was great, wifi was really good in all areas, property is clean, rooms are a little out dated but they were perfectly fine, and the AC was ok. We couldn’t get the room as cold as we would have liked but it was still very comfortable and a nice break from the heat. They work really hard to clear the sargassum and do a pretty good job, they can’t completely get rid of it due to there being so much, but there is always areas to swim. There’s also always lots of activities on the resort.
Cons: upgrading to privilege is not worth it, unless you upgrade to “exclusive” you’re still limited from certain alcohol, beaches, and menu items, and facilities. The ENTIRE complex is non-smoking for all you smokers which I did not see anywhere when booking. The only place to smoke is out front of reception. DO NOT do the $216USD “private” dinner on the beach. We were placed on the beach volleyball court (overlooking the sargassum) with people constantly walking in close proximity, the food was not good at all (we couldn’t cut the lobster with a steak knife), though the service was amazing. we left the dinner completely dissatisfied with everything but the service. The next night we walked by the pools and saw another couple having dinner on the beach in a different area completely secluded with no sargassum in sight. Needless to say we were not impressed that we were not given the same “private” option.
