"We had a wonderful stay at Fig Tree Cottage and appreciated the privacy. It was a perfect base to kayak in the Kaipara Harbour and Lake Rototoa. It was very dark and quiet. We could see the stars!! Our hosts are lovely people and we learned about the local area. One day we will return and stay longer."

"Susan the host was there to greet us and show us around on arrival, she was very helpful, doing all she could to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The barn was very rustic but comfortable. Had everything we needed for our stay. Bonus of Alpacas to feed and geese to watch in the paddock. Short drive to a local lake where we enjoyed paddle boarding. We had an enjoyable 4 night stay, thank you!"

Provided fresh free range eggs and fruits from the property, and welcomed us to help ourselves to fruits/ veges from the garden and eggs from the chickens.Spa pool wasn't available while we were there, possibly due to the recent adverse weather conditions. Spacious home, possibly mid-reno in places so there's a mix of older and newer features - needed a little fiddling with the older shower to achieve a comfortable water temp.Plenty of space for 13 of us, kids loved running around outside. Overall, a great stay."
