Amazing trip in a beautiful part of the world

Fantastic house in the national park

As advertised, the house was in a very small town in the Valdeon region of the Picos de Europa national park. You couldn’t find a better location. There were many great hikes nearby and a small restaurant in town that you could walk to for a lunch or dinner out. The owner was very nice and coped very well with our minimal Spanish even though he didn’t speak English. The house was huge and comfortable, and the backyard was beautiful. We sat out every evening to enjoy the views and the setting of the sun. The kitchen was well appointed with a good size stove express pot. Always the most important part of the kitchen. There is no oven, but it has one of the best grill setups I’ve seen so it was not a problem. You could even grill comfortably in the rain. It was very big for just us two, but we needed wifi to do some work while in the park, and it seemed the best option. The wifi was very good. I had no trouble uploading and downloading documents. I would say the house would very comfortably suit up to four independent adults or 3 couples if they know each other well enough to comfortably share smallish bathrooms. It would be a perfect place for a family with many school age children. There are a lot of stairs and sharp corners for very little ones but 4-16 would like the house and yard very much, and there are lots of beds. We had a wonderful time and we would strongly recommend David and his beautiful house.

A Very Special Place!

If you like a bit of adventure, nature with super amazing views and would like a change of pace, this is the place. After Lisbon and Porto and prior to San Sebastian and Barcelona, we stayed here for 3 days and it became the highlight of our trip! A wonderful contrast to our vacation to say the least! A day of easy hiking/walking, a day of horseback riding and just simple relaxation made this stop simply phenomena l!!

Pasamos unos días muy buenos en Diciembre en el Valle de Valdeón. La casa es muy confortable y David muy atento. Ideal para la gente que le guste realizar senderismo ya qe se encuentra en un paraje natural increíble y con la ruta del Cares muy cerca

Schöne Unterkunft, absolut empfehlenswert

Das Objekt entspricht absolut der Beschreibung. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Die Lage in dem kleinen dörfchen ist toll. Verbesserungsvorschläge: - Es hat keine Spülmaschine, man muss also von Hand abspülen. - die betten sind allesamt Einzelbetten, die zwar zusammengeschoben werden können, jedoch dann auch wieder auseinanderrutschen. Wir hätten Doppelbetten bevorzugt. Der Vermieter ist absolut hilfsbereit und reagiert sehr schnell auf alle anfragen.

Such an amazing place!

My family and I absolutely loved our stay at this chalet. It is clean, well supplied, and tastefully decorated. The owner is so friendly. He had a warm fire waiting for us. He gave us great insight into the history of this charming village and directed us towards some spectacular sights. Picos de Europa is absolutely breath taking. We hope to return very soon.

Donde las horas se multiplican

Hemos pasado unos días en familia con niños entre 18-10 y hemos disfrutado de la calma, del vivir sin prisas, de unos parajes inolvidables, de una comida excelente. La casa tiene una ubicación magnífica y las vistas, el sonido del rio, de los pájaros, nos ha permitido olvidarnos del reloj y las prisas por unos días! Wonderful casa

This scenic house sits on the edge of a tiny town in the middle of the mountains. The town has about 15 houses in it, but has one bar and restaurant with super friendly owners. David, who owns the house, was super informative and knowledgeable about the area. If you are looking for a remote, super quiet, ridiculously scenic setting, then this is the place.
