Easy check in and check out procedures/directions. I love that it was very quiet and peaceful, compared to all the people dining and walking the pier towards the bridge.
Great area to stay...everything within walking distance and the area is beautiful with lots to see and do. Great area for photos. The room was a bit damp but clean. The best part was the host who checked us in...Liliana was very kind and helpful and gave us lots of great tips for things to do and see. We'd stay there again just because of her for sure!
Oporto Street Fonte Taurina is just one street above Cais de Ribera. That is where all the action is and right on the river. Full of restaurants and shopping, and beautiful views of Vila Nova de Gala. Vila Nova de Gala is also where the Port Wines come from and it is an easy walk across the bridge. If you like wines, you will have to do at least one tour and tasting!
If you are coming from Sao Bento Station, it is an easy half mile walk to the hotel. If you have heavy bags, you might want to call an Uber or a Bolt, especially when walking back uphill to the station.
Greatly underrated room as pictures of room do not reflect actual space. Very small space and bed was in bad shape. Very happy we only stayed one night. View of city helped a lot.
My son and I truly enjoyed our stay. Breno warmly greeted us and tended to our needs very attentively. We could not have asked for a better host. The location was perfect, just off the main thoroughfare. The evening music was entertaining yet quieted sufficiently at night for a good sleep. Would definitely recommend!

The stay here was pleasant. We paid $167 for a one night stay. The river view room was worth the extra money in my opinion. There are no frills to the room, and finding the entrance can be confusing as the sign is relatively small. However, if you are just looking for a place to rest your head at night and only spending a day or two in the city this is a worthwhile consideration (depending on cost, if greater than $180 I would look at alternatives).

Beatiful area, great views from the balcony . Breakfast was not bad but one day they lost power and we could not even get coffee in the morning.
This place had a wonderful view and was very clean. Great location if you want to be in the heart of everything. The room I was in was poorly insulated so it was noisy, but it did eventually quiet down. The room is very small, not great for two especially since there is a window from the bedroom that looks directly into the bathroom. So no privacy.

Local living feel
Stayed 2 nights.Location was great, right by the river;down an alley,4 story walk up,2 units on each floor. The housekeeper, who was very pleasant, checked us in and said the regular staff member would be there the flowing day.We never saw anyone until we checked out and saw the housekeepe cleaning the rooms 2 days later. After you check in, you're on your own. There was no one there to request an iron from. They were available by email prior to my arrival,so I emailed and never got a reply. There was a blowdryer so I used that to try and get wrinkles out of my clothes for a cocktail party.Very tight quarters,no A/C, very powerful ceiling fan.Good for an overnight stay on a budget and to get the local living experience.Wouldn't recommend for comfortable, long term accommodations.
Old building, but clean and in the heart of Porto’s historic district.

Staff was really nice and made our stay wonderful. Breakfast was very healthy and was wonderful. Small hotel size made the stay feel welcoming. Hotel is in the perfect location, right near the water and center of historical area
The reason I didn't give the hotel a very good rating is because the room REALLY smelled musty and of old cigarettes.
The rooms are very small, which is fine, just be aware there is not much space. In addition, this hotel was completely retrofitted/renovated a couple of years ago and for some reason whoever designed it put a large see- through window between the bathroom and main room; why would have a clear view of my partner in the bathroom??
Great location nearby the river Douro. Small, unpractical rooms with no aircon and only a ceiling fan. Low level of service as it was impossible to get an extra blanket even though the front desk staff was supposed to be at the reception (which they weren't). No cleaning or resupplying of the room during our two-day-stay
Our stay in Porto was good overall. The location was excellent — very central and convenient for exploring the city. The staff was kind and welcoming during check-in, and we appreciated the secure entry system with a building code. The view from our room was beautiful and definitely a highlight.
The only downside was that the room was quite small and didn’t fully match the photos we had seen online, which made it a bit uncomfortable at times. Still, it was clean, safe, and a great option for a short stay in Porto.
