「My second visit to Y Pengwern. For me it's ideal for my hikes. Very quite, a lovely local pub with friendly people and good food. Made to feel welcome. No fuss or bells or whistles. Just what I like.」

「It was perfect for our stay. Firstly, it was only 5 minutes walk from Harlech Railway station, which was great as we came by train (the ride in along the coast is gorgeous by the way). It is also very convenient for the amazing beach, the wonderful castle & the bustling little town & shops. Our room was clean, quiet & a good size, with a lovely view of the castle. I had the best sleep I've had for a while. The staff were helpful & friendly & gave us good tips about the local area. Also, just...

「We really enjoyed the stay. The owner, Richard was lovely and friendly. It’s an old guesthouse, but it is part of its charm, and the room was kept clean. We stayed in a twin room, we wished that there had been a bedside ramp, but it’s not the end of the world. The only thing that we will miss would be there is no fridge if we visit in warmer days. The shared dining room was very helpful, and packed meals were a bonus. It was wonderful overall, great place and great location for our purpose. The...

「Good location in lovely Criccieth, but in need of - and actually receiving even during breakfast (!) - some further updating. This meant that the evening restaurant area was temporarily located in the rather dingy, small and unwelcoming bar area which meant we didn't try it even though the menu looked quite attractive. The breakfast area was also in need of updating - quite utilitarian and brown - and the buffet breakfast itself was OK, but not as good as we've experienced elsewhere. Our...

「Great location, easy self check in. The whole place was clean and in good condition. Simple self service breakfast with good coffee. If there was one word of warning... if you're a light sleeper bring earplugs. Someone in the next room was an impressive snorer and I didn't have any!」

「The views are excellent- Staff very welcoming and friendly. Rooms very comfortable but warning of some sloping ceilings! Amenities very good - good value for money. Breakfast very good. Good choice menu in the evening but disappointed that apple and blackberry pie not available for 4 nights of our stay! Dog friendly - which is great for dog owners but personally - I wasnt so happy re a couple with 2 big dogs being allowed into the dining room in the evening.」

「Was a perfect place to stay just below the Castle. Great food and drinks at the hotel. Lots to explore,in town and the beach」

「The room was terrible with a smashed bathroom basin, so I asked for another room. The 2nd room had a smelly damp, mouldy bathroom. There were no common areas. The bar/restaurant areas were kept closed/locked. Reception staff were not at the hotel full time. Only sporadically during the day.」
