The Peacock Pad is a clean, comfortable home and will be a place you will want to return to again. There is a wild peacock that has been known to roam and admire himself in the reflection of the large windows. The Peacock Pad is modern and elegant, with tasteful and minimal décor. It is conveniently located mid way between two main towns on the North Olympic Peninsula, Sequim and Port Angeles. It is hidden away at the end of a road in the best kept local secret; a very small, award-winning community over looking the Strait of Juan de Fuca. It has a unique access to the beach via a five minute hiking trail along a creekside which forms a lagoon at the end before spilling into the Strait. Beachcombing is a must on this special stretch of beach. Wildlife watching and photographing is a part of the entire experience here. The deer will be seen just outside your window and the eagles will be perched in the trees as you enjoy the views of the water. The three bedroom peacock pad is ornately decorated and tastefully equipped with everything you will need to enjoy yourself. All bedrooms have comfortable mattresses, two queen beds, and one standard double bed, and a comfortable living room. Sleeps 6 in beds. Washer/dryer, glass top stove, dishwasher. 2 full bathrooms.
You will share our private beach trail with our other guests at Hunters' Gate Homes. It is a gated, five minute hike with some large steps which are not easily navigated by small children or inexperienced hikers. Once down to the bottom you will be rewarded with a beautiful beach where the fresh creek water forms a lagoon that spills out into the salt water Strait of Juan de Fuca. You can walk and beach comb to the Dungeness Spit or head in a westerly direction toward Port Angeles.
The quaint little neighborhood store, Agnew Grocery & Feed, is only a five minute drive away, offering fresh local produce and a large selection of wine and other refreshments besides the basic grocery items. Sunny Farms Country Store is only ten minutes away where you'll find a larger variety of items including a deli and a fresh fish and meat market.
There are four restaurants all within a ten minute drive which are all highly recommended. If you want to venture further away, both Sequim and Port Angeles each only a twenty minute drive offer many more choices for shopping and dining.
The start of the road up to Hurricane Ridge and the Olympic National Park is a short twenty minute drive. You can plan longer day trips to the Pacific Ocean and the Hoh Rainforest and return after your adventure to our quiet, restful, tranquil treasure, the Peacock Pad.

Excellent location, loved the walking path to the beach and the overlook. Excellent wildlife viewing. Comfy beds and living area. Overall a great experience!
The Peacock House was such a pleasant and relaxing home-base for us while we were visiting family in the area. We loved seeing the deer each morning out front, using the trail to walk down to the beach, and resting in the comfortable beds. The Peacock House is filled with light and had everything we needed for our stay. I am thankful to have found this property and can't wait to stay again when we visit the area!
Located with a view of the Salish Sea on one side, and mountains on the other and even has beach access. Home was clean with lots of room and the host was very friendly
We had a great stay at the Peacock pad. The location was great for exploring the Olympic peninsula, and the accommodations were comfy for a family of 5. The overlook, nature trails and beach trail were simply breathtaking. We all enjoyed this stay immensely, including kids age 17-20.
We stayed here as our basecamp for exploring the northern parts of Olympic NP. The home is clean, in a quiet neighborhood, and the private beach access is amazing. We stayed here with our four kids and everyone had plenty of space and lots of fun. Would definitely stay here again.
Property is just as advertised. Easy to get to, easy check-in, kitchen had everything we needed. Really liked walking down to the beach at the end of road. Definitely recommend. We liked everything about the rental.
Great accommodations, peaceful area, overlooks of the straight, access to beach. Clean quiet, wonderful. If we went back to this area would certainly stay here again if available.
Description of property very accurate; no view (as indicated) but nice trails to the beach and lookouts nearby; two of the three beds need new mattresses
We were looking for a place close to Olympic as we wanted to hike in the park. The house was perfect and peaceful. It was clean, close to the national park and the kitchen had all utensils we needed. Lots of deer visited us during the stay. While we didn’t see any wild life on the beach, we did hike down the path to see the water. It was beautiful. Finally, as noted, this is a very peaceful location, which was appreciated.
We had a wonderful time here. The location is good. The house is charming. The neighbors is peaceful. We saw deer all the time. There is a bold head eagle nest in the tree next to the house.
This place was perfect for our short weekend with the grandkids. We know the Sequim/Port Angeles area so were pleasantly surprised with the location and view. Easy to get to Port Angeles and the sunsets were amazing. We enjoyed the trail down to the beach. Thanks to whoever did the work on that.
The unit was clean and had everything we needed.

Liked: Cleanliness, communication, location
Disliked: Listing accuracy
VRBO navigation will take you to the wrong house - this listing is for "peacock pad, #7". The "front door" is the door facing the water/North, and it does stick. So twist the knob all the way & push. Overall a great house. It is just not kid friendly. It is on a bluff / cliffs, which do not have railings that are safe for kids. The house also has LOTS of small delicate and breakable items through out. I had to go through the house to remove these to higher locations, and then remember where they were to put them back. It was nice that the vacuum was left, so we could clean up after ourselves. To see the ocean view, you have to walk out onto one of the bluffs, but the sunsets were stunning.
This is a great place to stay. Closer to ONP. Private beach . Clean home. Lots of kitchen supplies. Owner is very helpful . Bed linen fresh. Decorations in home customised with the the theme.
Enjoyed the stay.
The Peacock Pad is a comfortable place to relax in a beautiful area and quiet neighborhood. It’s located just a few steps away from a breathtaking overlook of the Pacific and includes a short trail down to the water. While this area is quiet and serene, its location is not far from Port Angeles and Olympic National Park, making it a great option to stay during your trip.
This was the most homey and comfortable vacation rental we have stayed at. It felt very spacious. The peacock decor was cute and done tastefully. The home was fully stocked with everything you need, including bar soap and shampoo & conditioner. The location was so peaceful, steps away from the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Not far from all of the attractions in the area. Highly recommend!
Had a great time at the Peacock Palace. Easy check in, very clean, large enough to spread out. Great location. Close to everything that we wanted to do. Marjory answered all my questions right away. Would definitely recommend to anyone coming to this area. We took the trail down to the beach and watched the Momma Eagle with her 2 baby eaglets. Also saw lots of deer and fawns right outside our window. Great place to stay and relax.
We loved our stay at this home. We had adequate space, clean laundry & plenty of home amenities to make our family feel right at home while visiting the Pacific Northwest. We were in awe of the roaming deer throughout the neighborhood every time we walked outside. I counted 19 at one time. And the Mountain View was stunning along nearby private beach (was a steep walk) but beautiful. Restaurants & stores were just about a 10-15 minute drive and many to choose from! Thank you for sharing your home!
We were looking forward to having air conditioning on site, but we're disappointed to find that there was NO air conditioning. Fans were provided and windows needed to be cracked in order to stay cool. There was a DVD player, but no DVDs. After we acquired a DVD, the player was unable to be properly connected to the TV. All in all, we thought the location was great and the accomodations were very clean. We had a lot of fun counting peacocks :)
A gem! Absolutely amazing stay! We spent 3 nights here and honestly wish it was the whole trip. Came with our 2 kids and it is such a peaceful location, so clean, comfortable, such cool peacock decor, and easy communication with the owner. The lookout to the beach and ocean is literally a 30 second walk and the beach trail and beach were so cool and we went everyday like twice a day and only saw another family down there once, so really was private. The kids loved the ocean, the cool rocks, seeing so many deer! We saw bald eagles and a live crab! Smart TV was nice to have in the evenings to watch a movie and they have multiple plug in fans which is a big deal for us because we can’t sleep without a fan on Lol. Would love to return someday!
We LOVED our stay here. The house was well furnished and very clean. The area was beautiful, we took advantage of the trails and the beach access. The wildlife was wonderful to watch. The host was very kind and helpful. Highly recommend!
Two couples that came into a town unknown for a friend’s wedding reception and were pleasantly surprised with this location and the accommodations. It was clean, quiet, beautiful, serene, and perfect for a quick get away and reset. We saw everything advertised and more! Bald eagles, deer, scenic views, beautiful vegetation, ate SO MUCH FRESH SEAFOOD, walked beautiful trails, saw Lake Crescent, visited cute little local country stores, ate fresh & sweet fruits enjoyed sunsets and relaxing walks/benches to just unwind - ALL IN 1 weekend! Very impressed with the area as it offers great amenities such as restaurants, ice cream, winery tours, gift shops, and social life. Everything was nice - the people, the accommodations, the EASE! The Peacock Pad was spacious, clean, and hospitable. We will definitely be back!
It was absolutely beautiful and peaceful, first night there, a deer walked almost to front door, very clean, would definitely recommend, and stay there again.
We had a great visit at The Peacock Pad. The property was as described and exceeded my expectations in terms of the views and beach access. The home was nicely decorated without being cluttered and would be perfect for a family with small children. It is an open floor plan with easy site lines and very few breakables. The television was exceptional and on a rolling cart which made it easy to arrange for viewing from the kitchen or living area. The beach trail may be challenging for persons with mobility challenges but there is a beautiful view with a bench that is an easy reasonable walk away.I highly recommend this property and hope to visit again in the future.
