"My daughter and I stayed in the Orme lodge, it was lovely. Nice and warm, squirrels outside the windows. Hot tub is just a hot tub - not one with bubbles! so don't look for a button to press lol Very peaceful. If you go with kids (i went with teenager) then maybe take a laptop to watch netflix etc on. wifi connection great. "Great hotel, clean, lovely communal areas and great bedroom. The music on entering the hotel was extremely loud due to a wedding party, so loud we couldn’t hear the member or staff on check in. Luckily this didn’t affect us as we were out all evening but had we planned to stay in the hotel, this would have been an issue "

"The location of this hotel is excellent, at first sight it appears fantastic but it is a little tired. The member of staff who greeted us was a little abrupt which took me a little bit by surprise, when I asked about and whether I needed to book she said yes, but there isn’t many slots left. That felt a little odd as our room included breakfast, we did book breakfast, she then asked if we had stayed before, we hadn’t, so she explained about how to get to the spa. Our room was a little tired but clean and large. The shower/water in this hotel is extremely hot so I would say be a bit careful. In the morning we went down to breakfast, it was buffet style and ok, plenty of seating. The staff were lovely and friendly, couldn’t be more helpful. The spa is basic but nice if you want a quick swim, sauna and steam, then perfect. Overall an ok stay for the money we paid for the centre of Chester."
