For the price, this was a really good hotel. The views of the lake are great. We really enjoyed the owner and son. Chatting with them is nice. Lots of food options and shopping around. Their restaurant had great BBQ food. AND, pale ale (first I saw in all of Nepal). I recommend a stay. But dont expect a palace...you pay for a good stay. You get it.
They did not have my registration so it took a very long time to checkin. The refrigerator was nasty and reeked a horrible odor. They never came to clean my room. Breakfast was not included even though it was advertised that it was.
Got a great 5th floor room with an overview of the lake. The room also had a terrace. Room was clean and staff was friendly. Few updates could be done. I touched one of the curtains and it fell down. No biggie, but... I was there with 2 children and they loved it. The food from the room service and the adjacent restaurant was mediocre at best. We only had one buffet breakfast there and it was bad, we didn't eat there again. But the hotel, good. I'd do it again. For the price, this was well worth it.
The property has a convenient location as it's on the main lakeside road.
The first room that we were given was not clean but they promptly gave us another room. Overall it was a good easy stay. The negative was that we had to all for a bottle of water a number of times before we got it and that too the next day as the 'staff was busy' with Christmas dinner.
It was great for us to relax and get a perfectly fine hot shower after our trek. The restaurant downstairs is also good. Overall a great place for families with children as well.
Good location, very nice staff, but needs maintena
The hotel is located in a very nice part of Pokhara, and the staff is very kind and attentive, but the rooms need maintenace. The first room I stayed in had a drain that overflowed and the second had a problem with the shower switch. Both were not very well cleaned and there was dust and hairs on the floor. I asked the cleaning lady to clean it again and, then, it was much better, but still the carpets were very dusty (both underneath and on top) and I avoided stepping on them barefoot. The furniture was very old, too, and the closet didn't smell very well. However, the nice staff, the comfortable bed and the delicious restaurant compensated the negative aspects. ;)
The Raniban Arcade was the perfect accomodation for a single guy on a solo trip to Pokhara. Amazing staff helped arrange trekking plans and made my trip amazing. Well priced rooms and the best location in Pokhara. Highly suggest this hotel!
What a lovely hotel in a great location lakeside of Pokhara. I was lucky enough to have a rooftop room with a spacious balcony that had gorgeous views of the mountains and lake. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful in making my stay very memorable. The owner even personally drop me to the airport on my last day when a taxi was not available. I’d highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
My mother and I stayed at raniban arcade in February 2018. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were greeted with drinks and some of the nicest hotel staff I have ever dealt with. This hotel is situation in a beautiful location - there is the lake to one side and then the amazing mountain range on the other. We woke up before sunrise, went up to the terrace and were able to see the sun rise over the annapurna mountain range. It was breath taking and we were able to admire it from the comfort of the hotel. The staff helped to organise a day taxi trip and treated us with the utmost respect. I would like to thank the staff for making our stay so enjoyable and highly recommend this hotel to anybody who is looking to have a taste of the beautiful Pokhara.
I stayed here for four nights. Had a great room overlooking the lake but you could also see the mountains. Great room facilities, hot showers, comfortable. Breakfast pretty average. Staff very friendly.
The location was great, right on the lakeside road. Had an amazing room with a lake and mountain view. The room was pretty big with a big study table. There was a balcony facing the lake which was an ideal place to have a morning coffee or just hang around in the late evening.
The service was great. People at the front desk were helpful. We mistakenly left our credit card at the desk after the checkout. We went to the bus station and were about to board a bus to Kathmandu. Then the lady from the front desk called the bus and informed that we left our credit card. She was kind enough to travel from the hotel to the bus and give back our credit card. I think that was really nice of them. We had no idea about the missing card.
Two suggestions:
1) We didn't get round trip free shuttle service. Just got an airport pick up but had to pay for the drop-off. Hotels.com's booking's had free two-way shuttle service on their confirmation email.
2) We asked for a house keeping on the second day. They did arrange our room nicely. However, the sheet was not changed or was just flipped on the other side or replaced with a dirty sheet. There were some spots on the sheet.
Other than that, the stay was great. I would recommend everyone.
