「My family and I absolutely loved this VRBO. If I was younger (I’m now retired) and needed an apartment, this is EXACTLY what I would be looking for. The bedroom with the pink accents was my favorite. Very clean, nice neighborhood, felt safe. Would definitely love to stay here again if I’m in the area. One thing….i am short, 5’ tall, perhaps a small stepping stool to get onto the beds would be a nice touch.」

「The photos really don't do this property justice. It is a serene, rustic cabin with pastoral views. The host goes above and beyond with the available amenities. Very responsive too. We really could have brought a lot less with us. A short drive to downtown Point Pleasant & all the local sites. Nice to come back to grilling up some dinner & relaxing by the fire pit. Would definitely stay again.」

「We waited a little late to make our reservation for the festival in Ashland KY and had an hour drive both ways. Turned out to be very fortuitous! We loved the property! Wonderful accommodations! Nice three room upstairs apartment in an old historic house by the river. Clean and well equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Lots of fun history in the small town of Point Pleasant. Don’t miss The Mothman statue and museum!」

「This place was one of the best places we ever stayed at. So quiet and the wildlife was amazing. Birds of all kinds, deer, turkey, bullfrogs and turtles also. The lake was fun and the hiking trails were just enough for a bit of exercise. We stayed for 3 nights and never left the property. Hated to leave. Roger and Mary joined us around the campfire as my friend played acoustic guitar. Great owners!! Only suggestion we had was maybe some hooks on the wall in the main bedroom to hang some clothes.」

「House was large with plenty of bedrooms and baths. We were a group of 27. Quite a drive on narrow roads to get to activities or stores of any type. Only one fridge which is not enough for a large group. Lots of cookware that needs to be tossed out. Remember to bring your own soap. No toilet brushes. Some sinks in baths do not drain properly. 「This was my family's 2nd Vrbo experience and by far the best! We stayed here during our visit to Point Pleasant and Mothman Museum. Vrbo properties on the W. Virginia did not offer the amenties our family sought. Runaway Retreat was a slice of peace and quiet! The deck/porch brought the outdoors to us. 「We enjoyed our overnight stay at “Our Little House on the Corner.” We were in town for one night to attend a wedding, and the house had everything we (5 of us) needed.
