"I cannot recommend this hotel enough. We LOVED everything about it!! It is a charming and cute boutique hotel, so warm and inviting. The location was nice as it was so close to many great restaurants, many of the main sites in the city and near the pickup spots for the tours that we took. The breakfast was outstanding with eggs and fresh fruit with beautiful views of the city from the breakfast room. But by far the best part of our stay was the incredible staff. We have never had such personalized service from any other place that we have ever stayed. The attention and consideration from the staff have spoiled us from this point on as I sincerely doubt any other place will show their guests as much sincere appreciation and care as they did. If you are traveling to Quito, stay here!!! You will not be disappointed!!"

"The hotel was great for what we needed for a night and the price was very affordable. Staff were very nice and happily switched us to an inside facing room to avoid the traffic noise below. It’s an older style hotel located just two blocks from the main area so super easy to walk to all of the activities."

"WiFi was decent but did break up sometimes. Friendly staff but often didn’t have information such as once I asked about laundry and the staff wasn’t sure and didn’t try to help and find out. It’s a budget hostel, good value for the money in the city historic center. You can walk alone at night u til about 830-9pm. Uber is plentiful. Decent traditional restaurants around within walking distance. Hostel is quiet except for the construction - so be mindful if you take naps or sleep in behind 8am. There is no refrigerator to store food and the staff wasn’t helpful about it. Bathrooms are small but completely updated. Hot water is warmer but not super hot. Pressure is good. No elevator. Narrow stairs. Extra blankets available if you need it."

"This hotel is truly a gem. From the decor to the location to the wonderful staff, we had a wonderful stay. It has a great rooftop bar with amazing views and the dinner we had their restaurant was one of the best meals we had on our 17 days in Ecuador. The breakfast was top notch too. The hotel is gorgeous and you are right in the historic center with so much beautiful architecture right at your door step. The staff went above and beyond with helping us get settled and provided us with a lovely welcome drink and appetizer. They also gave us a small bottle of wine and chocolates. I can't recommend this hotel enough!"

"We are so pleased and happy with our time in Hotel Sucre. The staff is top of the line, everyone was very happy to help out and make us comfortable was their main goal. Location is supreme, restaurant food was amazing, rooms were very clean and comfortable, the balcony looking out to the main Plaza is amazing. Gabriel and his staff are amazing. Definitely this is the best option in the historical center. DO NOT SPEND DOUBLE THE MONEY IN HOTEL GARGOTENAS, IS NOT WORTH IT."
