「Casa Kal Mar exceeded expectations. The decor felt so natural and perfect for the setting and the whole place was well kept and spotless. The views were stunning, the breakfasts delicious, and the staff was kind and interactive. Sylvia assisted with bookings for whale watching, massages and transport and had great restaurant recommendations as well. Highly recommend.」

「This adults-only guest house with big, spacious rooms (including kitchenettes) is about a ten minute walk into town. Hillside with great ocean views, you either need a car or a taxi on call if you are not a walker and can’t hike up and down stairs. I happened to love the exercise and the clothing-optional pool!」

The proximity to the ocean, the no frills clean and comfy accommodations and the wonderful care with which the owner and the staff run the place made me want to stay forever. I took my siesta on the hammock in front of my room daily. I fell asleep to the roaring sound of the waves outside. I went on a morning dip after watching the sunrise, all steps from my room. I can’t wait to come back. 」

「Nice, new rooms, stylish but simple. Exceptionally well maintained property, steps from a quieter part of the beach which we loved, 15 min walk to the center of town. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again. 」

「We wanted a small hotel for a 2 week stay that was close to the beach and had a pool. This hotel had both and was very affordable. It was in a great location with a very short walk to the beach or to the Main Street. All of the restaurants were nearby. The staff were very kind and friendly. The bed was comfortable and the property was well maintained. We would definitely consider staying here again.」

「Good basic local hotel in a magical location - please know this is a good Mexican hotel, not Canadian or American, so adjust your expectations. Incredible view but you’ll have to work for it, up a series of switchbacks on a very steep and winding cobblestone road. Down is harder to navigate but the heat gets you on the way up if you try to head back for a siesta or a bit of pool time. No food or drink available, which means you’ll have to plan well, as this hill is between you and all food and...
