"SP1 takes you directly to the Lower City Gate, then wraps left, then immediately right at the 'Y' CONTINUING UP THE LEFT HILLSIDR. ( Don't stop at the first gate. And don't loop 'all the way around to the left' and 'BACK DOWN' SP1; Rather, continue 'up' the main road, the SP1, up the hill along the left side of town. Thereon, you'll pass the first of 'two' bus stops 'on your left', then further up the hillside (near the top), you"ll pass a gas station on your left, followed by 'a 2nd' Bus Stop AND 15 Minute Parking area 'on your left' (This is at 'the top' of the hill directly across from the San Matteo Gate (on your right). NOTE: If parking is available 'on your left' backing up to the hillside at the Bus Stop, PARK HERE to unload and deliver your luggage to the Palace just 1 short block inside the gate on your right (Note: 15 minutes is just enough time to unload, walk your luggage up through the gate, past a restaurant with outdoor seating on your right, past the 1st side-street, past a glass-faced store on your right, to the next door on your right within the 2nd block going up the hill (Look for a dsrk brown wood french door). If there is 'no' 15 minute parking available, and you have a companion, Drop the companion with the luggage off at the SAN MATEO GATE, have them wait there for you, then contine down hill and around to the left for free parking along rightside of the road. There is more parking further down the hill on the right."

"The biggest mistake we made... was leaving. What a wonderful place to stay and enjoy the Tuscan countryside. The proximity to Sam Gimignano was perfect. Short stroll of 7 minutes and you are there. Room was clean and comfortable. Great water pressure in the shower with plenty of hot water. Loved the charm of this hotel. Met by Gaia... so hospitable and helpful. She walked us out to show us where parking had been set aside for us as asked (I received welcome emails ahead of my stay and inquired about parking. All was neatly arranged.) We enjoyed dinner in the bar area twice. All meals were wonderful. But the breakfast spread was just delightful. So many choices of fresh food. Delicious!! Thank you for a wonderful stay. Molto bene!!! Gratzie mille, Gaia!!"

"If you want to experience San Gimignano at its best, you need to stay inside the walls. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in a historic house. The owner and her staff were so kind and helpful. They had great suggestions for restaurants, etc., and shared the history of the house. We hope to return and stay there again!"

"This hotel was right in the main square, which was nice, and it was the only one of 5 that we stayed in on this trip that included breakfast, which was very nice, but the room felt dated. I mean, the town IS from the 13th century, so gees, what can I expect, but I expected the room to be a little nicer. I have a feeling we got a lesser room because we booked through Expedia, because I saw a few other rooms in my brother's travel group who booked directly with the hotel and theirs were much nicer. Also, do know that the walk from the P2 recommended parking to the hotel is quite an uphill, so bring small luggage!"
