The communication with the host was a bit confusing as I was told that a “colleague” would be there but, actually, it was the host’s mother. Altogether the family was very nice and helpful (could leave my luggage at early arrival and go explore). The room was cute with a comfy bed, maybe a little overstuffed with mismatched old furniture. Everything was sparkling clean. A fridge and a kettle were provided. Only upon arrival I realised that my room did not have an ensuite but a shared bathroom. When I looked up the description on Expedia I saw that this was only mentioned at the bottom of the room description. The shared bathroom was very modern, though, and very clean. The shower was powerful & hot. A haidryer was available. The location is in the historic city centre but a bit away from the main tourist attractions which makes it quiet. I slept very well.

Our room was quite small but had everything we wanted including a small fridge, roomy shower and clean comfortable bed. We would strongly suggest getting to the property by car as it is very hilly and there are NO taxis in this town.

No Heat, No Host Communication and Awkward. We got lucky with check in that the daughter answered the door and let us in. We never saw the host. I thought this was more of a hotel or bed and breakfast than a room in someone's house as it was. We ordered a double room and it was three rooms on the third floor of the property (One being the daughter of the hosts room) and two rooms that we did stay in and a shared bathroom. The daughter did not share the bathroom but it was clear it was hers usually. The pictures show a de-cluttered cuter version of what was there. They are storing (and not in a cute way) there things in these rooms too. Downstairs there was a very small room with a couch I suppose we could have used but it was awkward. We never really saw anyone and never the host the entire stay. I messaged the host twice and never heard back. We wanted wine glasses and for them to turn ON the heat. Yes, there was no heat! It was so cold we didn't want to shower! I think it had to be 55 degrees in there. I expected quaint in San Gimignano for this price, but this was not a comfortable stay.

Camera spaziosa in antica casa al secondo piano senza ascensore. Letto abbastanza comodo. Bagno in comune con una sola altra stanza, ben attrezzato. Zona silenziosa, accanto al museo archeologico e a poca distanza dalla piazza del duomo

Das Zimmer war sauber, die Inhaberin habe ich nur zweimal kurz angetroffen jedoch sehr freundlich. Die Lage ist sehr gut nur ein paar Schritte in die Altstadt. Ich war alleine unterwegs und das Zimmer für eine Person ideal.

Ho viaggiato per il mio compleanno, con moglie e figlia (11 anni). La stanza è molto bella e pulita. Situazione reale come da foto. Proprietaria accogliente e disponibile. Ci ha dato ottimi consigli. Letto matrimoniale comodo e abbondanza di cuscini. Ambiente riscaldato perfettamente, fornito anche di A/C, credo per l’estate. Luce anche naturale dall’esterno tramite finestre che però non consentono la vista (per posizione o conformazione). In camera anche due prese a muro con ingresso USB (tipo A, quello classico, più grande). Ottimo il bagno con doccia funzionale, bella e perfettamente pulita. Se arrivate a San Gimignano in auto, molto consigliato: vicinissimo ai parcheggi P3-P4 e a due colonnine di ricarica veicoli elettrici (attualmente Enel X). Sicuramente esperienza positiva. Consigliato.
