The Garden House - a contemporary house on the edge of Petworth, South Downs
The Garden House is a light, contemporary house which is quietly situated on the edge of Petworth and an area of outstanding natural beauty. It is only a short walk to the centre of the historic town, with its convenience stores, delis, many antique shops, independent retailers, gastro pubs, restaurants and cafes. It is also within easy walking distance of historic Petworth House and Park and the Shimmings Valley.
Inside, the house comprises a large open plan sitting room with dining area and well equipped modern kitchen with granite worktops. There is a downstairs bedroom with kingsize bed and ensuite wetroom (and direct access down stairs to the private garden).
Upstairs there are two more ensuite bedrooms, one kingsize bed and the other a double. There is a second sitting area upstairs too with a small double sofa bed. (There is an additional fee of £50 payable on arrival for making up and supply of extra linens if the sofa bed is required)
The house is furnished with contemporary furniture and fittings, with light oak flooring throughout. The beds are all extremely comfortable and the hotel quality linen has a very high thread count and is professionally laundered.
There is ample room to park up to three cars outside (additional cars ONLY by arrangement) PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN FRONT OF THE GARAGE and a large landscaped sunken garden laid to lawn with flower beds, paved areas and rambling roses. Modern and comfortable garden furniture, including six loungers and a dining table and six chairs, are provided together with a bbq.

We had a great stay at the Pool House in Petworth, it was well equipped with very comfortable beds and was brilliantly situated. We would be happy to stay there again.
This is a lovely property in a very nice location. We stayed here for 4 nights. The bedrooms were all ensuite and a good size. The kitchen was very well equipped and had everything you nneeded
We have stayed here on numerous occasions. Found the hosts to be very accommodating and wonderful. Modern amenities and great location. We will be back.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The property was beautifully appointed throughout with everything needed for our stay. The location is ideal, accessible to restaurants and stores as well as Petworth House, but also perfectly peaceful.

A very comfortable house, well presented with a relaxed feel. Great location for the South Downs and walking into Petworth including Petworth House. A well equipped kitchen also the bonus of all 3 bedrooms being en suite. Carole contacted us throughout our stay to make sure all was fine and whether there was anything else we needed.

Lovely property in the ideal location for the town, Petworth Park & house and the surrounding countryside. No need to take a car, just do everythnig from the property. Lovely & clean property nestled in a quiet location so no issue with traffic. Owner very helpful and kept in touch during the stay to make sure all was OK. Highly recommended.
I stayed with my dad, brother and sister the host was welcoming and gracious, very kindly left us some welcome items. The house was well equipped for home cooking, very clean and comfortable.
Location is beautiful we enjoyed amberly museum and Petworth House and park before cooling off back at the pool. We enjoyed a bbq and made some fabulous memories as a start to my dads 80th birthday celebrations
We stayed at the Pool House only last week, and had a lovely time. There were 3 reasonably sized double bedrooms all with en-suite which was a real plus. The pool was large and well-used over the week! It felt like you were in the middle of nowhere, yet within a 200 yard walk, you were in the town of Petworth. The coast is within easy reach, our favourite destination being Littlehampton which we really enjoyed.
There were a few gripes (the TV could be larger, you have to walk through the downstairs bedroom to reach the pool, and I thought paying for pool heating on top of the cost of the rental was a bit much) but overall we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the property. Helene and Robert were also very nice and quick to respond to one or two issues that we had, but left us to our own devices the rest of the time.
We had a great stay over new year. Petworth is a lovely little town with great pubs and superb curry house (2 mins walk). The Garden House was perfect for our visit. It had everything we needed and the kitchen was very well equipped. I would highly recommend. Thank you Carole and Robert!

Fabulous Poolhouse
We absolutely loved staying at The Poolhouse once again. Great setting, stylish furniture, beautifully clean and access to good shops and pubs make this an ideal place to stay.
A fabulous place to stay, the house is furnished to a very high standard, with everything you could need, the pool was really lovely too. With only a short walk you can be in Petworth town centre which has great shops & pubs and also a lovely cinema, which is worth a visit. Carole & Robert are great hosts. I would highly recommend the Poolhouse

Well equipped sand very comfortable get away
An ideal get away for three couples- well equipped and very comfortable en suite rooms. Close to Petworth House and village centre. Ideal for a short break.
This is our first choice for stays in or near Petworth. We have stayed at this lovely little house several times and we plan to return. It has everything we need, is super clean and comfortable and it is just steps from the village and the park. The hosts Carole and Robert are very accommodating
Thank you for a lovely stay. Absolutely perfect, very quiet and quintessential English countryside / small historic market town. Wonderful farmers market on 4th Saturday of the month, lots of lovely local walks.

The Pool House is beautifully appointed and very comfortable in every way. The hosts are very friendly and always on hand, living in The Old Rectory next door. This was our second visit and I’m sure it won’t be the last.
