"I had a great stay with Claymore Inn and Suites. I travel often to Antigonish and this time it required an overnight stay. While I normally stay at other places, I figured I’d give Claymore Inn a try. I’m impressed.
Great front desk service, speedy check-in, and decent furnished rooms. The bed was especially comfortable. What I liked most was having a bedroom with windows that opened. So, at night if you prefer the sound of nature and fresh air, definitely consider it.
I also had three in my party and each of us was given $16 vouchers for the restaurant next door. Fantastic experience with the food as well.
Other than that, my only minor thing was the TV not having cable (it did have YouTube and excellent speedy wifi… probably the best I’ve experienced staying at the hotel). I also noticed a smell from the washroom that entered the living space. However, closing the door and keeping the windows open significantly reduced the smell.
Simply put, I would definitely return again and will recommend it to others. I would rank it as my Top 3 places within Antigonish and New Glasgow area for price, service, quality, and amenities!"
"Stay was seamless . I would of liked to have had a map type layout of the parking spaces and locations availble that were in proximity to lodging. One picture is worth a thousand words."
"We enjoyed this cute little cottage by the water. The host was super friendly and helpful as we had a late arrival. They even left fresh eggs for is as a welcome gift and had east coast fiddle music quietly playing- a nice touch!
We were a little surprised by the size of the cottage- it was smaller than the photos represented. The rooms were clean, but very small. The living space, bathroom and kitchen were also tight spaces to navigate 4 people in.
There were lots of thoughtful touches added to make this cottage cozy and inviting, but it is rustic and you have to be ok with a few insects sharing your space.
This is a perfect place it you need to just get away and relax, there is water nearby if you want to just sit and listen to the waves, and at night we experienced fire flies dancing in the trees. It made the stay magical for my daughter!"
"Smooth check in process. We arrived in the middle of the night due to our flight delay. We got in our room no problem. Room was clean and comfortable. We did not get to try the breakfast."
"This house was beautiful. It had plenty of space for our family of 5. The patios made for a great breakfast and photo spot. The bathrooms and bedrooms were all fully equipped. We loved the vintage bathtub and royalty-like decorations. I would just advise to arrive when there is still light outside :)"
"The area was so nice and quiet.the host was so friendly and sincere, I’ve been to domes before and I found this one to be the cleanest of all with everything you need right there , we felt that if we did need something extra that our wishes would be fulfilled overall a great place and a great stay "
Waterfront Tiny House near Pomquet Beach- Winterized
8/10 Good
"Pros:
- Beautiful location with view on the water, about a 20 minute drive from downtown Antigonish, close to Dunns and Pomquet beaches.
- Has all the necessary pots, pans and utensils to cook your own meals
- ideal space for a couple or a single person looking for an intimate place to spend a few days.
Cons:
- Expensive
- Loft bed accessible by a ladder that, when in place, blocks access to the bathroom.
- Bedding would be greatly improved by adding a comforter and better pillows
- Very low ceiling in the shower. If you are over 5'7, it will be rather uncomfortable.
- Very small hot water tank
- Door can blow open in the middle of the night during stormy periods."
