We were looking for a quiet place to spend a week. We wanted a great beach with few people, and a lot of room to walk. Our stay here was all of those things and more. The house was fantastic, the location was perfect, and communication and support throughout the trip was great. Highly recommend.
The Pelican Point house exceeded our expectations, beautiful home and beautiful beach! The owners were most helpful providing needed information before our arrival and promptly responded when we had a question after our arrival. The caretaker lived nearby and responded with assistance on the two occasions we called him. We look forward to our next visit to Pelican Point and the Lee Shores beach house!
Beautiful beach home with Atlantic Ocean at your door step. Comfortable and modern house with everything you need to have a wonderful stay. Danny was spot on with any issues or questions during our stay. One note, If you are going to grill outside you will need to pick up charcoal in Freeport.
Family of 5 had a wonderful vacation on Pelican Point. The house is well equipped and Danny the caretaker is readily available for any additional needs. As advertised this location is a bit off the beaten path and is perfect for a quality family vacation away from the hustle of everyday life!! Weather was perfect, no issues with bugs, and caught some fish!!
Everything was amazing, from communication after booking to the home itself and gorgeous Pelican Point. The location is perfect for a quiet vacation and close enough to Freeport that you can create the exact getaway you’re looking for. And, as the other reviews have noted, Danny is an exceptional host who made us feel right at home from the time we arrived. We can’t wait to return!
We booked this house for a quiet, no schedule, get away and it delivered big time. The house is fantastic. Communication with the host, prior to arrival, was spot on. Danny, the caretaker on site is great and checked in regularly. We walked the beach, swam in beautiful clear water and listened to all of the quiet the area had to offer. We should have stayed one more day!
The house is so well thought out a real joy to spend time there enjoying the comforts, along with the scenery of the Grand Bahamas and Pelican Point. Everyone made it easy for our 10 day vacation to be totally stress free, from the owners to Danny the caretaker. We also enjoyed the people on the Island and the great fishing.
Many Thanks!!
Beautiful escape meets modern comforts - 100% Recommend!
This was a short getaway for me as a current resident in Freeport. The peacefulness of the location and access to the beach were by far my favorite things about the stay.
Being able to enjoy modern amenities was paramount to the location. From the comfort of the bed to the large tub and comfortable showers, I was very pleased. 10/10 would recommend, especially for a family stay.
My thanks to our host and the caretaker. It was nice having the restaurant nearby as well. Everything was awesome, can’t wait to be back one day.
Beautiful home and property. The weather was not super cooperative but the abundant nature and beauty of the view prevailed. Danny the caretaker was great as mentioned in previous reviews. Always love the people of the Bahamas and this trip was no exception.
Second time here and it was fantastic! It’s a nice comfy house with everything you need for a great beach vacation. Very clean and peaceful. Great beach to walk, fish, swim, etc. Danny the caretaker is attentive and can help with questions. If you need someone to take you fishing, snorkeling, etc I highly recommend Shervin Tate. We’ll be back!
Beautiful remodeled home with a fantastic view of the Atlantic. Rick and Danny were both very accommodating and quick to answer questions and take care of any needs. This was my fifth time to Pelican Point but first time renting Lee’s Shores. We hope to be back soon to enjoy the solitude and beach. Thanks to Rick and his wife for sharing their home with us for ten days!
House was as described and photos are a good representation of the property. Very remote on the East End of Grand Bahama. We visited during hurricane season and knew that weather might not be the best, but enjoyed our time very much. Rarely saw other people on the beaches (which we loved!) and felt ‘at home.’ Danny, the caretaker, was attentive and offered many options, checking in with us periodically to see if we needed anything. A relaxing stay!!
I would recommend future guests bring a knife sharpener (or buy some cheap ones at Sam’s Club and bring them with you). The home is a good distance from Freeport, so do your grocery & liquor shopping there before heading out to the house.
I can not rave about Lee Shores enough! This home was amazing, the ocean view was spectacular and Danny was beyond wonderful.
If you're looking for a peaceful, beautiful and completely relaxing spot for a vacation, THIS IS IT!!!
The hosts were so helpful and they could not have a better caretaker. Everything that you need is in the home, just pack some clothes and make a quick trip to the grocery store, you'll be all set.
There is a great little restaurant just a very short walk down the beach, you have to try the panny cakes.
We are planning our next trip back to this awesome home. Thank you so much!
I cannot say enough about this amazing jewel that is so kindly shared with others. The owners were warm, friendly and always available for questions. You can see the level of care put into their beach home, which makes a beautiful, extremely comfortable and unmatchable stay for guests . They’re hired caregiver, Danny, is amazing and lives right down the road. The village restaurant is delicious and the locals who live in the village are friendly and informative. We booked for next year before we left and I can tell you, I am in my 50’s, travel often, and have NEVER done that!!! If you are looking for a serene, breathtaking, just about perfect getaway, look no further, Lee Shores Beach House is it!!!
There’s not a lot about this house that isn’t described already.
It is a journey from town. Do not go to the closest grocery store to the airport. There is nothing near the airport.
DANNY DANNY DANNY. There are not enough great things to say about Danny. He helped us with bait for fishing. Checked on us when we needed. Fed us all at the right time. He’s a true delight.
This house is perfect for people who do not want to see people on the beach during their stay.
Please be aware the sand fleas and flys. They bite and hurt. Grab sunscreen and bug spray before you head to the property
The entire rental experience was top notch! The owners of the property were easy to communicate with and very helpful in providing guidance to ensure we had a great experience.
The property is about 1 hour from the Freeport area and in a very rural town called Pelican Point. The location is incredible and the property is directly on the ocean - the view is incredible and the home is equipped with everything you need.
Danny is a longtime local and available to assist with ensuring your stay is top notch. He helped us with a number of things and also owns the restaurant that is down the road - Pelicans Grill - we had dinner there 3 of the nights during our stay and it was awesome!
Be sure to pickup food and drinks before you go to the house in Freeport as there are limited to no options to buy groceries close to the property.
Book with confidence and get ready for a relaxing trip that will surely be remembered for a lifetime!
Thanks again to the owners for allowing us to stay in their home!
The consistent perfect scores on this property are a testament to the accurate description. As described, it is a beautiful setting, and it is secluded. The beach is literally steps from the door, and it stretches for miles. This is a rare find. Honestly, our close friends and other family members might not like staying here because it is so far away from the action. But this is what my wife and I were hoping for.Someone expecting to have restaurants, shopping, and touristy stuff nearby would be disappointed. The single nearby restaurant has perhaps the best food on Grand Bahama, but its hours are pretty limited. Make sure to try it out.Go shopping and get plenty of groceries and refreshments when you arrive on the island and you won't regret it. If you have to travel back into town for something plan on an hour drive each way through an unpopulated area. Also note that grocery prices are so high you may wonder how the island residents can afford to eat.If you want to get out fishing ask the caretaker to connect you with Shervin as soon as you arrive, to have the best chance to get on his schedule. Spending a day on the amazingly beautiful water with Shervin is 600 well spent. It was the highlight of the week for us.
The house is immaculate, there wasn’t one thing we needed that wasn’t already available, including the things we forgot back home. The owners eye for detail is evident in the countless “little things” they have added for their guests benefit. Which is saying ALOT because we used their beautiful home as our wedding venue. The layout of the home was ideal for our wedding party to get ready in. The turquoise water and swaying palm trees at sunset made a breathtaking backdrop for our wedding. We left our beautiful arch with tropical flowers and 8, 12 inch vases that can be used with floating candles as isle decorations, in the hopes that it will bless future wedding couples. Enjoy!
The ONLY thing that SURPASSES this stunning home and warm Caribbean water right out the back door is the gift that comes with this home, in the form of “Mr Danny” what a rare precious jewel he is!! He checked on us every morning, making sure we didn’t need anything, and giving us local advice. He was there start to finish with our wedding, chipping in and helping with anything he saw that needed done, without being asked. His warm lighthearted laughter, stories, and genuine compassion is one of those rare gifts that this world desperately needs!! Danny owns Pelican On the Beach restaurant a few doors down and kept it open late for our wedding party to finish pictures and come eat his delicious fresh seafood. We met as strangers and were welcomed into their small community and left as family.
What a paradise! Looking for a slow-paced and private beach vacation? This is the place for you! With only 2 rental locations in the settlement of Pelican point, Lee’s Shore & one at the other end of town, & the small population of locals (all of whom were so wonderful to meet & treated us so welcomingly), you can expect to be the only ones on the beach. You can walk for miles to the East or to the West & not see another person. The beach was clean & sand so soft. The house was clean & was well equipped. Food prices at the grocery store are high so fishing was a good way to keep food costs down. Just make sure you bring a good filleting knife with you in your checked bag, as we were not able to find a knife that was sharp enough to fillet the fish we caught, but the neighbors were nice enough to lend us a knife when we needed it. If you are planning on snorkeling, I would recommend bringing your own gear: even though there is some gear at the house, it is hit or miss if the size will fit you or not. We ended up running back into Freeport to buy our own. Put your mind at ease about safety & security. Every store in Freeport has a security guard, & the beach house itself was completely safe. I never once felt like there was any danger during our stay at Pelican point or in Freeport. I cannot recommend this house highly enough. The care taker of the house, Danny, lives right up the road & is a great resource for getting hooked up with fishing & snorkeling tours.
The house is very nicely appointed and was well kept. A few things are worth noting. The main dishwasher was not working and the caretake appeared to know about it but failed to tell us. If you want remote, this is remote. Honestly, you have to purchase everything in town - which is an hour drive away. The nearby restaurant closes at 5. That is not when they stop serving - that is when they shut the doors.
Beautiful house beautiful furniture floor plan and appliances. It is a bit far from everything so its the perfect place to really relax and enjoy the beach. The host & caretaker are awesome.
