This is a fantastic experience. From the minute you arrive, every member of staff goes out there way to make your stay special. The bale was perfect and very comfortable. The attention to detail was amazing. Pool area was lovely and iced water and cool towels were a lovely touch. Food is up there with Michelin star restaurants. Overall a perfect stay.
I stayed with my wife here for 2 nights and it was truly an amazing experience. The food here was world class , both Widi and Oji made sure we had top service and experiences at the property
Buahan is by far my favorite resort. Every single person there is extremely friendly and passionate about their job! I feel so joyful when I see them enjoying their job and life - Ogi, Asana, Legi, Monica, and others (sorry I forgot your names…). And the view is the best! To me, it’s a very spiritual place that allows you to fully connect with the nature. I look forward to coming back😊
Stunning environment as if nature hosts you and the staff are kind and experts in their work. The goodness of the recipes with local ingredients were unforgettable. Once in your life I recommend you come to this hotel. It will remain as a worthless experience forever.
From the moment we arrived at Buhuan, we were swept into a world of pure magic. The staff provided impeccable service, anticipating our every need with warmth and attention to detail that made us feel like treasured guests in a hidden paradise.
One of the absolute highlights of our stay was Rudy, the botanist and cocktail mastermind. His passion for natural ingredients and innovative mixology turned every drink into a work of art. Whether infusing fresh botanicals, hand-crafting syrups, or customizing flavors to suit our preferences, Rudy didn’t just make cocktails—he created experiences in a glass. Each sip was a testament to his creativity and deep knowledge of nature’s finest flavors, making our cocktail dreams come true in the most extraordinary way.
And then there was our casita—out of this world. The design seamlessly blended luxury and nature, with breathtaking views, elegant details, and an atmosphere of total tranquility. It felt like our own private sanctuary, where every sunrise and sunset was more magical than the last.
Buhuan is not just a place to stay—it’s an experience, a masterpiece, and a memory that lingers long after you leave. If you have the chance to visit, don’t hesitate—you’ll be enchanted in ways you never imagined.
This is a truly stunning, unique, and beautiful hotel. It is also not for everyone. For starters, it is adult only and with good reason. They have embraced the "without walls" concept and the villas (or bales) are open to nature. We stayed in a Buahan Valley Pool Bale with incredible vistas over the valley and to the mountains beyond. Falling asleep with the fresh air and waking to the bird song was delightful. It is nature and there are some insects and lizards and birds and spiders, but we were never bothered by any of them. The property itself is gorgeously maintained with lots of native vegetation and the food is incredible, utilizing mostly local and largely plant-based ingredients. The bar program similarly emphasizes local ingredients and a delightful selection of unique cocktails. I could go on and on about the things we enjoyed - the heated pool in our room or the larger infinity pool for the community; the daily discovery programs; the ingenious cooling system above the bed. Most of all though, the people were incredible. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, eager to help us have the most remarkable experience possible in their country and at this beautiful property. From foraging for local botanicals to fine-tuning our meals to explaining the unique elements of Balinese hinduism to arranging a late checkout before our 8pm flight, the people at Buahan truly elevated this beautiful and unique hotel to the highest level of travel experience.
Beautiful hotel with truly exceptional service from start to finish. Some dinner courses were a bit lacking in flavor, while the main dish never disappointed. A small downside was the pool, which is not heated in all the villas.
Buahan is a very lovely place to get pampered and spoiled. The staff is extremely attentive and the place is gorgeous. A very special place to treat yourself to.
We’re a couple of foodies who love quality cocktails and this place just blew our minds. Pretty much everything is locally sourced, which is bonkers considering the huge amount of creations coming from the kitchen and bar.
Thanks to chef Sheandy, Arsana (bar) and Budi (butler) for making this an unforgettable experience.
Would definitely come back in a heartbeat 10/10
Amazing hotel, with an exceptional customer service which pays attention to details. The Location of the hotel is extremely nice and isolated from the crowds of Ubud. The room panoramic views are unbelievable. I have been to several Banyan Tree properties in the past, but this exceeded all expectations.
The entire team is super friendly, caring, and attentive. From check-in at the pavilion and then being escorted to the villa, from daily activity bookings to in-room services, its dining experience. Of course we booked this property for its natural beautiful surroundings. It was a memorable 4-nights retreat, highly recommended!
I never write a review, except for now after visiting the banyan tree.
One word “amazing”
The complete experience was genuine, attentive and heartwarming.
This is a true luxury experience at its best! The entire team went for the extra mile to welcome their guests.
Positives:
- Hotel is situated in the jungle which allows for a unique and immersive nature experience
- The 16 villas are beautiful and spacious, completely open and well equipped with a lot of attention to detail and local craftsmanship
- Very private and quiet
- Own waterfall and rice field on the property
- Complimentary morning yoga
- Sustainably sourced, plant-based food from the very own garden and close surroundings
Negatives:
- The service was extremely friendly but not well organized. They send you a link to a guest portal where you can fill out preferences, arrival time etc. Even though I did it they asked me several times again to fill it in. On arrival they didn’t have the correct info on file and even requested me to send them the booking confirmation from Expedia (which I found a bit odd and never experienced before)
- The sheets and towels were not clean. There were stains on almost everything
- Turndown service is from 5-7pm. They arrived at 5pm so I asked them to kindly return in 1h as I was just about to take a shower. They said yes but didn’t come back. At 7pm nobody had showed up still
- When leaving they said they would send someone for the luggage 10min before I was being picked up. Nobody showed up, my driver had to wait another 15min for the luggage
Overall it’s a very unique and beautiful experience with breathtaking views of the jungle. But you have to be into camping and being very close to nature (since they are very eco-friendly they don’t
Einfach perfekt.
