"As this was a relevantly new establishment we weren't sure what to expect, but we had a fabulous stay. Everything was high class, from the coffee bags - not instant, to the shower/shampoo/conditioner. Towels that actually covered me, to posh 'who gives a crap' toilet paper!!We came home one afternoon to find a small punnet of strawberries in our room! The Castle Hotel

8/10 Good

"I confess that I was a bit disappointed when I first arrived - but the room was big and well appointed with an updated bathroom, and changed my tune., it’s walking distance to everything in town. It wasn’t hot inside during the heat wave, hurrah! The building itself is a bit shabby but the room was great. Very noisy at night so bring earplugs. We were lucky to get a parking spot in the street in front, but the train station car park is the backup. Breakfast was basic continental fare and kept us going."

"Nice Georgian building with good parking. Kept waiting at reception to check in while a large family were allocated rooms. Nice bedroom and shower room but approach to it was along a narrow corridor and up narrow back stairs. Good food at dinner but served by inexperienced staff. Nice breakfast was served in the bar as the dining room was full. Overall a very good experience but just cannot claim to be excellent."

"Self check in was very simple to follow. Room was basic but very clean. Tea making facilities with complementary biscuits. T.V. en-suit perfectly adequate. Breakfast was self service cereals, toast and fruit juice. Order for cooked breakfast was taken by waitress..... and beautifully cooked it was !!!! Outside the hotel is a beatiful view of the sea, free car parking is directly over the road, the car park contains a Co Op supermarket, there are half a dozen restaurants literally a stones throw from the hotel. We went to the Indian literally 50 meters away and it was excellent!! With Eyemouth being a tiny fishing port there are also fresh seafood restaurants. Eyemouth is a truly quant little place.... a hidden gem !!"
