Nice, well-kept grounds with a beautiful beach right behind the property. Lounge under the coconut trees. Or climb up and get a fresh "pipa" to sip. One of the locals did just so.
I liked being in a regular neighborhood and well away from tourist resorts. But with this, and the tropical environment, bugs can be a pain if not dealt with. Bring bug spray.
We rented both the Casa and Casita. For a group of 11, we had plenty of room. Both homes had very nice furniture, closets and A/C in every room. Both kitchens have new stovetop ovens and refrigerators. If you aren't fond of the Costa Rica Creepy Crawlers, I advise you spray your rooms before turning in for the night.
Outside you have two pools; one for each home. Pools were nice and the guys from the "506" team were great to come and clean out the pool right away. Those guys were quick to answer our calls or texts via Whatsapp and come immediately to handle any problem. We had some minor issues with bathroom fixtures which can be remedied with some updates.
Getting back outside, pelicans, red macaws, frigates, fly above. If you're a hermit crab fan, well this is the place for you. They all come out at dusk and parade down the Hermit Crab Highway to the shore donning their commandeered shells of every variety available. We were also visited by a great, ancient iguana. He gave us a show as he ate some leaves off a bush and performed some acrobatics.
All of this could have been a little more enjoyable with some more outdoor lounging furniture and a few more hammocks. But I digress.
The outdoor kitchen, better known as El Rancho, was a really nice spot to hang out, eat and drink. Wifi was a bit slow there, but we had good company.
All in all, a beautiful place, beach, neighborhood, country, and people.
We also made friends with the next-door neighbor, Macha. She will cook any type of food you like, as long as it's local fare. Abuelita can cook, and you can't beat her prices! She and her family were very friendly. Ask to see her cashew tree. It is a rare treat for gringos like us. One that we will experience again. Hopefully soon...
