The pool and living area is completely covered. So enjoy being outside with protection from the sun. This also makes it the perfect house during rainy season!

We are located just outside of the small friendly town of Paquera. It's just a 3 minute drive to the center of Paquera that has all the modern conveniences. There are 3 grocery stores, a pharmacy, a variety of restaurants, bars, ATM, delicious bakeries, and a great coffee shop.

The house is conveniently located just a few minutes from the Puntarenas ferry. From there, you can explore the San Jose area, Monteverde, Arenal, La Fortuna, Jaco, or many other popular sites. Make it a day trip or spend a night and head back home in the morning. Check the ferry schedules to maximize your time.

We are completely fenced in with one other house, so you can close the gate at night for added security and privacy. If you open the gate early in the morning, you might catch the guy who drives by with fresh bread, cheese, fruits and other goodies. Listen for the three beeps of his horn. We love to get the Costa Rican enchiladas which are puff pastries filled with deliciousness. They are cheap, hot and wrapped in foil.

In the late afternoon, listen for the macaws to fly by. You can't miss their loud squawk! We have also had visits by some beautiful green parrots in the nearby trees.

There is a lot to keep you busy if you want to explore the area. And of course there are multiple uncrowded beaches to visit if you want to swim and relax. You could visit a new beach every day for a week and never drive more than 25 minutes.

Curu Wildlife refuge is about 10 minutes from the house. From there you can hike for miles, kayak, horseback ride, take a scuba diving, snorkeling or fishing tour.

If you love turtles, check out the turtle rescue in Tambor about 25 minutes away. Another day you may want to take a boat ride out to Tortuga island. Or if you love surf towns, head to Santa Theresa for the day or Jaco right across the water.

Montezuma is a must! Head out early and hike the waterfall. Then have some lunch and check out the shops. It's about 45 minutes from the house.

You'll be right at home in this house that was made out of a 40' shipping container. It's insulated with A/C in the 2 king bedrooms, has hot water on demand throughout the entire house, and a washing machine in the back.

The kitchen is well equipped with a microwave, coffee maker, crock pot, rice cooker, gas stove, toaster, and blender. There is also an outdoor area with a sink and a built in charcoal grill.

You will also have use of 2 bicycles, a snorkel set, beach chairs, beach towels, a cooler, a beach umbrella, pool floaties and yoga mats.
