Charming Boutique Hotel

The Amarla was a charming boutique hotel located near the Plaza de Francia in the Casco Viejo area of Panama City. The staff were friendly and helpful, even holding ours bags for us after we checked out. The hotel is in a very walkable area.

I changed my initial hotel to Amarla about a week before taking the trip and I'm so glad I did! My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and not only was the hotel and the room gorgeous, but also the staff was immensely accommodating, and with it being a boutique hotel, there's much more attention to detail with who is staying with them at the time. Couldn't recommend this place enough, and I hope to be back soon!

Lovely boutique property in the heart of Casco Viejo. Centrally located within the Casco, we could walk everywhere. Service was lovely and their restaurant in the main level was lovely too. Our room was a good size and it had lovely amenities. Super nice decor and very clean. There was an elevator to get to the third floor where our room was which was nice and our room had AC.

I had a lovely stay at this gorgeus hotel. It is indeed a true arquitectural icon in Casco Viejo, full of art, textures and the best of all, lovely staff to assist you all the way. I was looking for very boutique and quiet experience, and I got nothing but the best. Highly recommended for those who are looking to stay at a lovely and elegant spot. Highlight: rooftop and jacuzzi

Great Place

The Amarla is a wonderful boutique hotel. The amenities in the room were excellent. The service was five star. Everyone we ad interaction with were friendly and happy. The food in the restaurant was great. The chef is excellent. Flavor profiles were very good. This restaurant is frequented by the locals, not just hotel guests. Overall we were very pleased with our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Panama City.

Amazing hotel in the old town

This place is a hidden gem and we highly recommend. We had an amazing room. The staff are so friendly and felt like friends after our week stay. the location is unbeatable and great for walking to all the sights and bars and restaurant's in the old town. We also explored islands, rainforest, jungle, high rise city and Panama Canal and Monkey island . We need to return as there is still so much to see. We also loved the breakfasts and the hot tub on the roof garden area. We usually stay in Marriotts/ Hyatts this place was so much better the decor was amazing and a lovely ambience.

I can't believe this is listed as a 3-star property. The Amarla is amazing. The customer service is top-notch - the drinks and cold towels at check-in, the friendly knowledgeable staff and daily eco-bottled water delivery to the room. The hotel is gorgeous - stayed in a classic room and everything was well-appointed. The included breakfast - so many options and all of them are cooked to order (includes fruit plate, drink and entree). I would stay again in a heartbeat!

I was thrilled to stay at the Amarla. The communication between the staff and me before my arrival (discussing tours and other details) was more than outstanding. Never have I received such communication from a hotel. Special shout out to Osmar, who kept me in the loop and Ginelva, who was at the front desk when we checked in. She made sure we got settled in, had dinner, and assured us coffee and a box meal the morning we had a 6am tour. The room was comfortable and really, really quiet. The hotel offered the best sleep I've had in six months! The staff in the on-site restaurant was also very attentive : Yenny and Luis were exceptionally attentive. And the food was delicious, we ate dinner the first night at the hotel and every day for breakfast. When I return to Panama I will definitely start at the Amarla again.

We stayed at Amarla twice - one night on either end of our trip. Both times we were in the Superior Deluxe Suite. It was awesome! The hotel is quaint and has a ton of style. The room was spacious and the bed was super comfortable. Our room was 2 stories with a separate living area from the bedroom. It was great having a balcony to people watch from as well. The rooftop has a small pool and lounge area. There is also a restaurant attached. We were only able to eat breakfast there as they couldn’t accommodate diet restrictions for dinner time though. I would highly recommend Amarla if you are in the Casco Viejo area! It was totally central to everything and super easy to walk to everywhere we wanted to go. Just book it!

There was construction going on, and so there were lots noses coming through the walls all the time- vibrantion, clanging, buzzing.... everything is very compact, and i wish there were more spaces in which to relax. Also, lighting was odd. I needed to do some work? And i couldn't find anywhere to get enough light when the weather kept me inside. It's beautiful, and the staff and food were excellent, but this are the areas for improvement

The property looks exactly like the pictures. The Rooms were a bit smaller than I imagined. The lunch menu needs to be a bit more versatile and didn’t like the options at all. However this place is 10/10 for me, highly recommend.
