Clean and very comfortable, great shower and jet-spa bath, easy-to-operate high quality air conditioner/heat pump, and kitchenette. Bed was made to perfection with soft sheets, lovely pillows and bedding. Bus stops right outside, on the same street, with buses directly to Massey University (one direction) and Airport (opposite direction), and all other main bus routes close by. Very close walking distance to the Plaza shopping centre, department stores, fashion stores, supermarkets, and dining options. Also close to the Square, City Library, and churches. Friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Tried without fail to reach the manager multiple times over the week on all listed numbers. Couldn’t get in my room initially as no code sent for the lock box. Wallpaper peeling off in my room. The office was locked and without staff all week (I was there Sunday to Friday) and no phone contact possible. Very unusual.

Check in process is painful, I received the following email at 12.27pm Kia Ora Wayne, We have you arriving at Destiny on Fitzherbert motel on the 21 Feb 2022. You will receive a text (by 1.45 pm on the day of arrival) to the mobile number used in the booking process. If the person arriving is using a different number, don't hesitate to contact us to send the text to the appropriate mobile. If you have not received your text message shortly after receiving this email, please get in touch with us to re-send the message. The text message will detail your allocated room number and the applicable pin code for the lockbox. By 4pm I still hadn't received the text, even after emailing the office, leaving messages on their landline and cell phones and texting. Eventually got a phone call with instructions. Then had to email, phone and text again to get the wifi code. And no apology. The motel itself was actually good and comfortable but the service was crap.

Nicely decorated rooms. Ordered queen and single but only got queen and foldaway sofa. No milk either which is strange when they provide tea bags etc. Very clean.
