Staff good, accommodation clean if a little dated, nice outdoor space which was welcome. God facilities and location.
Huge light filled room convenient to restaurants and supermarket. Room was a bit noisy at night because next to highway, but we just turned on a fan in the room which was enough white noise to drown out the trucks.

Clean rooms and helpful staff. Microwave didn’t work, aside from that all good.
The owner is wonderful, the room was roomy, clean and inviting. Great service and very thoughtful advice regarding places to eat and places to see on our trip.
It was just a one night stopover after Hobbiton and Waitomo Caves tours. Numerous restaurants within 5 minute walk. I caught the Northern Explorer to Wellington
The manager is super friendly and gives great recommendations to local attractions. Nice location.

The location was great, friendly at check in, nice to have a two bdrm, and there were nice touches with the towels, but the apartment was super perfumed, fortunately there were fans provided which helped a little, but the perfume was pretty strong and persisted through the night. There was mold in the bathroom. The refrigerator is a small hotel unit that did not freeze our ice packs.
Well run motel. Good parking. Nice unit with functional kitchen and excellent, spacious bathroom. Very convenient to Waitomo Caves and Kiwi House. Could walk into town for meals.
Wow we were very impressed with this motel. Very spacious room which appeared to be recently renovated. I was greeted by a lovely gentleman at check-in who was friendly and helpful in recommending local places to eat. Would definitely stay again!
Great place to stop over on the way to Hobbiton or when traveling. Only stayed one night but the room was clean and had everything we needed for our family. Right off of the road and near grocery and restaurants.
Palm Court Motel in Otorohanga is a hidden gem, offering exceptional hospitality and spotless accommodations. The operator’s warmth and attention to detail made our stay truly special. Rooms were immaculately clean, well-appointed, and perfect for our family of four. Its prime location—just minutes from the Kiwi House and glow worm caves—made exploring effortless. Convenience, comfort, and genuine care define this motel, making it an outstanding choice for families or travellers seeking a welcoming retreat. Highly recommended!
Front desk staff was very friendly, room was nice and we had a lot of options within walking distance. Would have loved a washing facility but staff did tell us of a laundromat just down the road.
It’s a typical NZ motel - perfect for a short stay whilst travelling around this amazing country. The owner was incredibly helpful and informative on arrival which ensured we made the most do our first day in the area. Close the caves at Waitamo but it’s also worth going to the Kiwi Sanctuary- some great work being done to protect them. The motel room has all the facilities you need you need and is great value in a great location

For the area and the price, this property was good. It was very clean and came as promised. Shower was a bit wonky to turn on and towels were rather thin. Definitely the least nice of the 4 similar places we stayed in across the North Island but great location and much less costly than 2 of them.

Whilst perfectly serviceable and undeniably a pleasant motel, I was a bit disappointed by some of the obvious lack of maintenance in the room. Shower was very outdated, the bathroom floor linoleum floor very slippery, paint in several areas of the bathroom was peeling or damaged, and the bathroom fixtures (heater, towel rail etc) were extremely dated or worn out. Perhaps most bizzare of all was the fact that the room (located upstairs) shook and rattled like a gentle earthquake whenever trucks would pass on the road.
Again, perfectly serviceable lodging for a one night stay, the staff were lovely and the bed comfortable, walking distance to shops and eateries. If I had paid less for the room, I'd have far less complaints but at $180 a night it did not quite live up to my expectations. Hopefully the owners will consider updating some of their facilities in future.
