The Space:
Rangiuru Stream by Tiny Away is located in Otaki Beach, North Island, New Zealand, just 58 minutes from Wellington. A vibrant city known for its tucked-away bars, café culture, award-winning restaurants, and great coffee. This country retreat is nestled on the edge of the Rangiuru stream, a fantastic place to relax, unwind, and take in the natural beauty of Ōtaki.
Explore this seaside destination and enjoy nearby attractions such as Queen Elizabeth Park and Nga Manu Nature Reserve, as well as nearby towns like Waikanae and Paraparaumu.
A comfortable 139 square foot tiny home with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers).
Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the tiny home and its surroundings but have limited access to the stream or section.

Our local recommendations include Nga Manu Nature Reserve, Paraparaumu, Queen Elizabeth Park, Waikanae, Otaki Beach, and the Māori Film Festival at Kahungunu Marae. Each spot offers something different: nature, culture, coastlines, or local events. These are key places to experience the best of the Kāpiti Coast.
Getting Around:
By car:
- Wellignton is only 40minutes drive from otaki on the new highway
By public transport:
- We have local buses around the areas
Other Things to Note:
- No WiFi is available
- We have pets on our property
- Pets should be kept on a leash at all times
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- No smoking allowed inside/outside the tiny home
- Firewood is available at an extra cost of $50/ per tub
- Mobile reception is good with Vodafone, 2degrees, and Spark.
- Pets are allowed with 24 hrs' advance notice. The full pet policies will be sent prior to arrival
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
Important note:
- Keep in mind that BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the cassette toilets and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
