The Upstairs hotel was a very stylish and fun hotel just steps from the beach. The staff was really friendly and helpful! One small point is if you do book one of the small/cheap rooms, they aren't easily accessible via the lifts. You will need to go down a couple of flights of stairs which can be tough with heavy luggage. Otherwise I highly recommend this hotel when staying in Ostend!

This hotel is in a great location, right on the beach, close to lots of restaurants and shoppes. There are games to play in the lobby, which is fun. The only issue I had was that it is a smoke-free property however there were clearly people smoking on our floor, which made our stay less comfortable. Also, in the lobby, they would leave the sliding door open and people would stand right in the entry way and smoke constantly, making the entire lobby, including the bar and games area super smoky, which we found off-putting and nauseating. Unfortunately, the smoking everywhere was the one negative of our experience.

I was able to book my room extremely last minute, and the price was amazing and when I got to the room, it was gorgeous with two balconies on the very top floor. I could not be happier with this booking. I would’ve stayed the whole week if I knew about it earlier.

I did not like to wait for the lift which was taken over by cleaners when demand was high for breakfast. Cleaners equipment should not be in lifts at high demand times

Pay more for less

I booked at noon for the night. One hour later I receive a call that my payment was refused... In the train there was nothing I could do apart of paying at arrival... At the check in I had to pay 30 euro more... For a room where the shower is switching on every 5 minutes and a TV that switches off at the same pace... And to finish I be been awaken by a crazy cleaning machine ... What a hell

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und bemüht. Das Ambiente ist sehr modern. Die Zimmer sind sauber und das Design war einfach, aber extrem durchdacht. Besonders gut gefiel mir tatsächlich die Lage und dass es mal endlich genügend Milchdöschen zum Kaffee gab. 😀

Zeer goed en vriendelijke ontvangst. Alle medewerkers waren supervriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het is een modern en trendy hotel met een hippe inrichting. Het ontbijt is meer dan de moeite om erbij te boeken. Als er iets is wat we kunnen aanmerken is het dat er in de lounge 's avonds enkel chips aanwezig waren als snack. De kamer was netjes en oppervlakkig proper, maar bij aankomst had de lavabo nog een gekleurde kring van een glas dat er had op gestaan en de spoelbak van het toilet was nog bestoft. Ook het stalen bedframe met gaatjes was niet afgekuist. Toen we na een paar dagen de kamer lieten proper maken waren dezelfde items niet propergemaakt. De handdoeken zijn ook heel trendy in geel en zwart maar roken heel muf. Het glasgordijn in de kamer was toe aan een wasbeurt. Het hotel plant een boom wanneer je er expliciet voor kiest om je kamer niet te laten poetsen tijdens je verblijf, wat wel een mooi initiatief is. Helaas werd er juist aan een groot gebouw in de straat gewerkt waardoor er al van 's ochtends vroeg lawaai te horen was. De laatste nacht was er een koppel met een baby in de kamer naast ons en merkten we dat de muren tussen de kamers wel heel dun waren. Weinig slaap gehad die nacht. We hebben ook een kartonnetje tussen de deur van de kamer naar de hal gestoken 's nachts omdat er trok op stond waardoor de deur rammelde. Lijkt allemaal misschien wat negatief maar de aangename setting en personeel maken het tot een heel leuk verblijf vlakbij het strand en de winkels!

Leider ist das Hotel durch seine Bauart zu hellhörig. Als wir dort waren auch ziemlich viel Krach nach Mitternacht durch Besucher

Leuk kindvriendelijk hotel. Nette, verzorgde kamers. Uitgebreidt ontbijt. Er was wel enorm veel lawaai in het hotel (omliggende kamers) tot een stuk in de nacht waardoor ik geen goede nachtrust heb ervaren.
