It was a very small dated hotel with very few amenities. There’s a restaurant connecting to the lobby where you can smell cigarette smoke. No laundry facilities onsite. I stayed there 5 days and 4 nights, but did not receive any room cleaning. Only the trash was picked up and towels exchanged. The housekeeper was very nice. The owner / manager speaks English well. One of the female front desk staff didn’t seem friendly.

The owner was friendly and so helpful. He directed us to the nearest subway station and shared what we could find in the area. The rooms were spacious and the bathroom was clean. We had two rooms for the seven of us. Would stay here again

The staff at the hotel is what made the experience for us at this hotel. The room was large but the bathroom was small and there was a bit of an odour in the room but the staff were extremely helpful and kind and we had a great stay overall.

Hotel with pretty flowers in the entrance

Had a great stay at this hotel. Room was clean and had all the things needed. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful every time. I would recommend it and definitely would stay again when I visit Osaka.

This was my second stay at Kohan.this time, when I checked in, the door to the room had been left open. A wet, dirty towel had been left on the rack in the bathroom. Other than this, the room was fine.

Japan vacation

2 night stay in Osaka and this hotel is conveniently located by the train station. It is a few blocks away from dotonbori and endless restaurants. The staff are very accommodating and helpful.

Pleasant stay at Hotel Kojan

This property was very easy to find, once I arrived I was greeted by the property mgr. Very nice gentleman and assisted me with my reservation. I found the room to be very clean, accessible to both stairs and elevator.

Location is amazing close to metro n Namba but there is construction going on to improve the hotel so i guess it will be better next time. Free breakfast was packed not buffet as advertised.

Good location

The staff were excellent, especially the reception lady. She was very helpful and polite. The room has no view but looking into someone elses front door, so no privacy there. The room was not cleaned properly as you could find dust everywhere. The location for excellent.

Excellent location, walking distance to metro station and to alot of amenities. We had family room, which was large for Japan standards, would have appreciated a bigger toilet though and the room had a strange “musky smell “ when we walked in! (Soon went away once we had the A/C on for 24hrs….) for location alone, I would recommend this place 👍

This hotel is in a great location a short walk from Dotonbori. The staff were very friendly, kind and helpful and they helped us with our luggage transfer. We booked one triple room and one single room. The condition of the triple room could do with some TLC as the walls and ceilings had what looked like water leak marks on them. The photographs make the room look nicer than what it is. Also given the busy location there was quite a lot of noise from the street disrupting our sleep. My husband was in the single room and his room walls were in better condition, however in the middle of our first night he could smell cooking smells in the room. However the next morning we mentioned this to the front desk and they changed his room and the following 2 nights were fine. We oaccepted it for the price we paid and we only spent time in the room to sleep.

Hotel Kojan was a comfortable and budget-friendly place to stay. The room was spacious, especially by Japanese standards, which we really appreciated. The staff were friendly and generally very helpful. The location was excellent—just a short walk to Dotonbori and surrounded by plenty of bars and places to eat. We highly recommend the onigiri place just a few doors down, and there’s also a nearby ramen spot that serves a delicious fire miso ramen. There was a bit of a damp smell in the room when we first arrived, but it went away after we kept the air conditioning running during our stay, so it wasn’t a major issue. We used the laundry service, which was convenient and a nice amenity. However, it’s worth noting that they seemed to use a hot drying setting, which caused some minor shrinking to our clothes. If you plan to use it, it might be a good idea to specify your preferences in advance. Still, it was great to have clean laundry taken care of. Housekeeping came daily to change towels and take out the trash, except on the second-to-last day. We’re not sure if that was intentional or just an oversight, but it’s something to be aware of. Overall, we had a pleasant experience and would recommend Hotel Kojan to travelers looking for an affordable, comfortable, and well-located stay in Osaka.

It was located in a convenient location. There were many dining options within walking distance. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The property is a little worn. The room smelled a bit musty and one of the beds had damp covers on it. It felt as though they took the bedding out of the dryer a bit too early. There was no view. The only view we had was of another buildings staircase.

At first it wasn't bad, when we got there it was difficult to find out if they received our bags, they were sure they didn't know what we were talking about, until I showed them pics of our bags, and then they said they had put them in our room already. That was a nice moment. Two of the staff members were great, the girl and the man with the US accent. Everyone else I won't speak on. The room was lovely except they said they had this eco cleaning thing, which meant we never had our room cleaned except for the day before last. But even then they left the bins unchanged. The pillows had feathers in, I was allergic to them, then one guy I told proceeded to tell me there weren't any, of course I took picture proof that there were. He decided to give us towels to put in pillow cases as replacements... Anyway, the other man found pillows for us eventually but not before housekeeping put more of the allergen pillows on the bed, my face was swollen for 4 days... Also the breakfast was DIABOLICAL! After day one I decided not to eat it and went to Lawsons everyday, which increased our costs. Expedia tried to get in touch with the hotel to gety breakfast refunded, the hotel just ignored them, ha ha, you can't make this stuff up. I will say the room looked nice and was spacious and had charging ports in good places. None of that was enough to save the bad experience overall. There's more but I'd be here all day.
