Rooms were big. Nice bathroom and 2 sinks. Had an elevator. Air conditioned was quiet. Breakfast was minimal. Pool was closed, some vending machines not working. Maybe could use a little updating. Outside well kept up

Booked this room as a bit of an emergency passing through. Always a little iffy on these independant road side places. This place is charming as heck. From the old timer manning the night desk, to the cinnmon rolls added to the tyically nothing continental breakfast. Admittedly the hotel has not had a recent large scale renovation, but everything was clean and working.

Horrible welcome from staff. Closed amenities not on their site or description. The pool, spa, bar, and lounge were all closed. The deck was surety and the beds uncomfortable.

Pool, hot tub and bar are all permanently closed, they should not post that they have these amenities. The box springs, mattresses and pillows were all stained. The linens were clean. No signs of bugs.

Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities
The room had an odor from the air conditioner. The carpets felt sticky. The blanket cover had a slight smoke smell. We were able to fish off the dock and catch some fish, which was the best part. The pool is closed indefinitely. The breakfast was sad. Ended up getting donuts at the cafe down the road for breakfast. The staff at check in was great, the staff at check out was pretty unprofessional. Convenient location for a night. Definitely not the same as my last stay in 2019.

Disliked: Amenities
Room and lobby was clean, rustic northwoods decor was a bit dated but charming. Staff was very nice and helpful. Pool, hot tub, restaurant look permanently closed. Hopefully there are plans to reopen at some point in the future, especially as local options for dining are limited. Good value for what we paid for lake view balcony room, only a few other guests at the time we stayed.
