Security Issues, Poor Maintenance, and Inadequate Response from Property Manager/Host
Our recent stay was disappointing due to multiple unresolved issues. The electronic door lock was malfunctioning upon arrival, unlocking without any code entry - a serious safety concern. We used our travel toolkit to disconnect the lock's battery to secure the home overnight and used a physical key until it was fixed the next day.Basic promised amenities were missing: bathrooms lacked toilet paper and hand soap, requiring us to purchase these essentials late on check-in night. While some supplies arrived with the lock repair the next day, we'd already bought our own.The property's cleanliness was substandard. We found food debris on kitchen floors, a soiled refrigerator, a used earplug in an upstairs bedroom, and visibly dirty blankets. Several maintenance issues existed: a broken dishwasher, malfunctioning freezer ice maker, dead batteries in a smoke/CO detector, and a severely clogged HVAC filter that wasn't replaced when the lock was addressed.Despite immediately reporting most of these issues with photos through VRBO's app at check-in, only the door lock was properly addressed. The property manager's minimal response to our concerns and the host's lack of apology was particularly disappointing. Note that VRBO's review character limit prevents sharing all documented issues.While this property has potential, it needs significant cleanliness, maintenance, and guest support improvements. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend staying here and would not return.
