We stayed one night at the Mailan rural house in Orio, but it was enough to appreciate the care and affection with which Estíbaliz treats her guests. We had a super spacious and bright room on the second floor. The house has that vintage feel, with beautiful classic furniture and wooden floors that you don't find anywhere else. All of this is set in a beautiful garden. If you enjoy breakfast in the living room off the kitchen while admiring it, it's a great way to start the day....
「Hotel is a small, well designed, minimalist and modern; as described by other reviewers but what we distinguishes this hotel from other small hotels we’ve stayed in is the staff. Teresa, Pablo and Esti can’t be more gracious, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about their region including restaurant recommendations, booking our return trip to Bilbao on the bus and providing information for the local train to Donostia (San Sebastian) and France for day trips. 「Plenty of parking although can be competitive for spots in the weekend. Staff was superb, offering ideas of what to explore, and even helping us reserve at the full booked restaurant. Quiet from 11pm-7am when the church bells waken the town. Room was very good for a pencion and at night the sound of the ocean sooths the soul.」
「La habitación estaba limpia. El check-in me pareció un poco complicado (es auto check-in). No hay nadie en recepción para recibirnos. No tiene opción de desayunar allí pero cerca hay muchos bares donde desayunar. Para aparcar en la zona de alrededor es fácil (aunque de zona azul, hay que estar pendiente del ticket para que no se pase la hora). Es un hotel que recomendaría」
「Vackert beläget strax utanför San Sebastián kände vi oss direkt väldigt välkomna till detta underbara nyrenoverade hotell. All personal var fantastisk. Rummet var ljuvligt. Sängarna var väldigt sköna. Maten var jättegod och en fantastisk frukost. Underbart poolområde. Vi stannade tre nätter och njöt i fulla drag. Kommer mer än gärna tillbaka. 」

「Beautiful hotel right in front of concha beach. Had a very homely feel. As if you were staying at a friend’s fabulously tasteful house. Very lovely bedroom , comfortable bed and quiet ( in the night ) despite being right in front of the beach. Easy to walk into the old town- five minutes walk. 」
