Loved Orange Beach but this condo, not so much...
The Good... First time back to OB in 20 years and it is very beautiful and fresh feeling. Not tacky or touristy. Loved the location of the condo. It is very convenient to most everything. We loved watching the boats going in and out from our balcony and beach. The complex, while older, was nice and updated for the most part. We cook in a lot and the kitchen has everything you would expect to make simple meals. We were there for Spring Break and they post an ordinance stating a no tolerance policy for alcohol on the beach during that 3 week period. We and many others were drinking and as long as you are not obvious about it, it was not a problem. We really like that it was mostly families and not many college kids. The group of college kids we did meet were polite and friendly. Also, the Catholic Church is really close to this condo👍
The Bad... Just a lot of little things that were an inconvenience. No dish soap in the kitchen. Paper towels and toilet papers were just about empty. No extras. No salt and pepper in kitchen. Only one dishwasher pack for the week. They have a ice machine in the complex but it cost $$. All cheap things but inconvenient because we had to go buy those items which are things we always find in the other condos we have ever rented. I could have just brought those items from home had I known. Just an FYI, bring those items if you don’t want to have to go to the store.
The Ugly... really bad mold and mildew in the shower! Gross! 🤢 We took a picture and went to the front desk. To their credit they did send a very friendly cleaning lady who took care of it. They also credited the cleaning fee. The carpet in the master is old and feels dirty. My wife did not want to take her shoes off in there. It really needs to be replaced with new carpet or preferably tile! Otherwise the condo was nicely appointed and comfortable but it was not very clean.
We would definitely return to OB but just not this condo.
