we enjoyed our stay @ La Vista Akangawa very much. our main attraction was the Ainu fall festival and the hotel is close to town and the cruise dock. Breakfast & dinner were beyond our expectations.

If I could I would probably give this a 4.5. The staff was excellent, the room was large, clean and very comfortable. Parking was easy and it was in a good location. We loved the personal soaking tub on our patio. The only thing I would rate a bit lower would be the buffets. There was a lot of choices but for anyone that is picky or prefers a western style meal it’s going to be a bit challenging to eat. The studio was compact, clean, and quiet, with very comfortable beds. Check-in and check-out were straightforward and hassle-free. We especially appreciated the thoughtful attention to detail and the considerate touches provided by the host.

This hotel has a nice lounge area to relax after some hiking. It has some beverages and great background music to enjoy a civilized drink before dinner. Dinner was excellent, with very dedicated staff to make it sure everyone enjoyed the dinner.

We had a wonderful 3-nights stay at Lamp No Yado Moritsubetsu. We were two couples and took two Japanese-style rooms, both of which were spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel very welcome from the start. The setting is beautiful—peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by lush greenery. The location is very convenient, next to JR station, Shari bus station and Seicomart. The hot spring is good.

The ocean view was great, but that was in my imagination because I had a wonderful view of the snowy mountain. That being said, this hotel is fantastic for what it is because granted, it is located in a remote location and not exactly in a metropolitan city. Will I go again? Definitely.

Breakfast was so delicious - one of the best meals of my trip! I left my umbrella in the hotel and had it shipped to Tokyo - staff was super responsive and helpful. Just note that it’s cash on delivery, so the shipping cost was a huge surprise and I should have just said goodbye to my hokkaido themed umbrella instead 😭😭 (5200 yen shipping for a 1200 yen umbrella).
