"We can up for a ski trip to Lutsen and decided to give this place a try. It worked out great! Only 8 min from the hill. The property was very clean, with fully equipped kitchen which we loved. Check in process was a breeze. Perfect for 4 guests. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets! Going to miss the views! "

"What a north shore gem! The staff was welcoming, check in was a breeze, and the room was cozy! The view is what makes this hotel spectacular, who doesn’t love falling a sleep to the sound of waves and waking up to a gorgeous lake view. "

"What a perfect setting in the woods and close to everything ie. Lutsen and Grand Marais. A few initial small glitches; however, Mr. Smothers was MORE than accommodating especially given it was Thanksgiving day. Pool was closed; however, the public pool in Grand Marais was open. A setting were several quiet walks with family was very relaxing and therapeutic! I HIGHLY recommend THE HIBERNATION HOUSE! "
