If you are looking for a remote lake get away in northern Otsu this is ideal. This location suits the out door adventure types who want to be away from Otsu city. The people aren't used to American tourists, so don't expect a lot of English speakers. However, they are friendly, and we had great fun at a place called Gorilla Bar. There are many lovely little shrines with almost nobody there - so peaceful.
