Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and the accommodation was good value. Food in particular was lovely!
Service was quirky but that just added to the relaxed vibe of this lovely place.
The Finch team gathered for us a jug of shampoo to utilise their gorgeous big baths but could have been better if they were already their of a bath bomb etc.
We have booked again for Valentines weekend because it very clean, great location, food and drink was great and the service was excellent.
We stayed on after attending a friend’s birthday celebration lunch at The Finch’s Arms. We really enjoyed our stay, the food was delicious, the service was excellent and we had a very comfortable room. Thank you 😊
Wonderful one night stay as part of exploring Rutland Water and area over a weekend. Worth staying here for the fabulous food alone (amazing menu and incredibe service). Room was large, clean and comfortable. Lovely peninsula walk (5.5 or 7 mile options) right on the doorstep and a short drive to two nature / bird reserves. Would recommend and we will hopefully be back.
Great pub and hotel
Lovely staff all very happy and very hard working. Our room was tastefully decorated lovely bathroom with great towels and bath mat.
Breakfast was yummy as was our meals in the evening. The roast was very tasty. We will be returning. Thanks everyone for a great few days away
Lunch service on a Friday was poor with an uninspired menu served by an indifferent and sometimes surly team, breakfast Saturday excellent and with friendly natural service - lunch for large group on Saturday was average for both so overall i can only recommend the stay and breakfast , the information and web site grossly over rates the venues culinary and service capabilities - i dont say this lightly as im a Food and Beverage Director so know about challenges but feel honest feed back is better than the usual blah blah blah everything was wonderful when it wasnt
Very warm welcome on arrival and all staff very welcoming and helpful. Room was nicely furnished and good walk in shower. Evening meal was delicious - good choice, well presented and very tasty. And a good choice for breakfast.
Beautifully decorated, staff super attentive. Food absolutely delicious.
Overall absolutely excellent.
A few more veggie & vegan menu options would be fantastic!

Liked: Amenities
Certain lack of attention to details. Bath body wash dispenser empty.
Bar tables, inside and out, left cluttered with dirty glasses etc.
Lovely location with amazing views from our bedroom. The bar was good but a little pricey. The dinner menu was limited but the food we had was very nice although the liver could have been better prepared. First impression of the room was influenced by the view. Upon closer inspection it was very tired. The bed frame had the covering peeling off and in my opinion needed a new mattress. There were cobwebs and dead flies in the window and all the walls were scuffed. Bathroom looked great but there was black mould in the sealant round the shower cubicle and the shower head was desperately in need of a good clean, or better still, replacement. That’s the bad stuff and having said that we really enjoyed our stay. The staff were great and very helpful. But I wouldn’t say it was four star and £140 for B&B was quite pricey.
It’s very difficult to be critical because we did enjoy it but it just needs a bit of TLC and an eye for detail for example, the red and blue decal on the mixer tap was missing - only minor but in a four star you wouldn’t expect that. I know the cold is to the right but I have been in hotels where it’s been swapped round - so very pedantic of me. I get that following the pandemic funds are going to be tight and appreciate that they will want to improve but these things take time. Downstairs was very good. Overall we had a great stay.
Beautiful location, gorgeous old house converted into a lovely pub, restaurant and hotel with a modern twist. Great service, lively food and overall super value. Would highly recommend
