"We loved everything about Z1. Pool overlooking the ocean was beautiful, poolside service was also great while lounging. Private beach loungers were also really nice with security keeping beach peddlers away. Next door is a little convenience store where you can get cheaper cold beer/soda/snscks. Room was very clean and comfortable and turned over twice daily. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really solid at sexy fish, overlooking the ocean/beach. The rest of the meals are pricey compared to nearby places and I wouldn’t say the quality is much higher. Just fancier plating and garnishes. Not a ripoff by any means but for the price we got better value at local spots off the beach."

"The rooms and the grounds are sooo nice and well maintained and cutie. As far as nungwi goes you can get slightly better locations. The food at the restaurant there is SO overpriced for how basic it is. They should change their menu/prices, multiple other guests had that complaint as well. The prices the owner has for excursions are super overpriced so ask anybody else when you’re there for a better deal to do things. The WiFi goes out a lot on the north side of the island and often times when I would get back to the hotel there would be no WiFi or electricity or water. There was no hot water here twice. I woke up one morning with no charge on my phone cause no electricity throughout the night."

"Couldn’t recommend this hotel more! We had an amazing stay at Maisha, the staff were an absolute highlight for us and really made the trip special. A huge shout out to Edward who was always a friendly face with warm conversation and made the best drinks at the bar, he really made our trip memorable! We loved the beach bar and the food and drinks were great. I highly recommend using the TukTuk service to visit local Nungwi & Kendwa beaches, it costs a couple of dollars and is very worth it. The drivers are great and can pick you up whenever needed. The staff are really helpful if you have any questions or need any recommendations on what to do on the island. We loved the couples massage and recommend doing this whilst at the hotel. The hotel is steps away from the Mnarani turtle conservation pond which was a highlight for us, and focuses on turtle welfare and rehabilitation vs a tourist trap."

"Property is beautiful but there is no swimmable beach. They have a shuttle to another resort but they only do it twice a day, You have to pay $10 each but it is consummable, You can use the chairs and umbrellas but by the time you get there after 11 they are all occupied, if you don’t care about the beach then its ok. They have a nice pool and a jetty."

"Property grounds were nice. Rooms are a bit dated. The TV and telephone in our room did not work. Manager at reception was very accommodating and made our stay much better. The massages were excellent. Highly recommend them.! Wifi is awful! Love the balconies! The other downside is the beach, the beach is beautiful but you have to pay 25$ for 2 chairs and umbrella every day if you want to be on the beach. Otherwise they do have beach chairs on man made beach near infinity pool. Just depends on your preference! Food is ok. Nothing to rave about but something for everyone!"
