Very good value. Room was comfy and clean and had all the amenities. Breakfast was included and was lovely and they catered for allergies well. Staff were friendly

Needed updating and a fresh lick of paint. Smelt very musty of old smoke.
Staff were lovely and very helpful.
We had dinner in the restaurant which was lovely and home made.
I stayed one night at the Salhouse and had a single room. Evereywhere was tidy and clran. The gardens were a little brown as was everywhere due to the dry weather.
My room was very comfortable and very clean. Good shower with plenty of hot water.
I ate in the restaurant. Service was efficient, friendly and welcoming. The food was hot and freshly prepared.
There was live music playing very late and i was not informed of this upon check in and staff dont seem to be well trained or knowledgeable. I wont be staying here again.
Couldn't find my booking when I arrived which was a bit daunting. Then eventually they found the booking. No food was available due to electrical problems, but ok for cooked breakfast

Electrical work underway and not notified until arrival that restaurant would be closed following day.
At times poor communication between staff and guests
A very warm welcome we arrived late for check in as there was accident on NDR but they were fab. A good breakfast served and cooked by Melanie. We stayed two nights and we didn’t realise that food stops at 8.30 we arrived back at 8.45 at that point the chef who had finished work he offered to make us a sandwich which was above and beyond thank you
A pleasant stay (the photos don't really do the place justice) although the room is a fairly awkward arrangement with a detached bathroom down a difficult few steps - albeit to a spacious area. Worthwhile checking beforehand whether there will be one of the frequent live music performances as that might not be appreciated - and it can affect dining times. Nevertheless the unexpected live group on the Sunday and the Monday jazz were both actually quite pleasing on the ear and both finished at reasonable times which did not intrude in the room. Excellent, unpretentious meals, all freshly prepared.

Very disappointing. They forgot to mention the had 3 live music e ents the week we stayed, our room was right above the bar and extremely noisy if you weren't expecting it.
We received a £50 refund which didn't really make up for it.
The Lodge is currently on the market and the general state of the place shows the owners have lost interest.
Overall I'd give it a big miss and stop believing what I see on websites
Pretty rooms, friendly staff and lovely breakfast. Breakfast room and bar was looking very tired, could do with a spruce up! Bedroom and bathroom was lovely tho so hopefully the rest of the hotel will follow. Beautiful setting
Excellent value. I stayed one night in single en suite. Very clean room and bathroom.
Good selection of pub food available. Wide selection of beers too.
Cooked Breakfast (included) was great.

Pleasant Countryside Location
Great, countryside location (if you have a car). Easy to get to Norwich, Broads, Gt Yarmouth & North Norfolk coast. Sunday carvery very good bt didn't eat again except for the included breakfast which was OKish. Seemed to be reheated fare (eg firm & red hot fried egg yolks). Coffee wasn't good so go for the tea. Decor in the main areas is rather dated but the room was very nice. Despite having the kitchen extractor in touching distance of our window, it was rarely on & when it was it didn't cause any issues. Lovely staff & service, with live bands on two occasions (Sun & Tues) when we were there. Also had clay pigeon shooting happening as we arrived on a Sunday! Seemed a very popular spot for locals on a Sunday. All in all, would definitely stay again.
